Combat
Battling in Haypi Monster involves choosing a monster to enter a 1v1 or 2v2 combat. The fight ends when one side can no longer continue.

1. Monster Avatar: | The avatar of your monster in combat. |
2. Monster Stats: | Health, level, element type, and gender. |
3. Opponent's Avatar: | The avatar of the opposing monster. |
4. Opponent's Stats: | Health, level, element type, and gender. |
5. Countdown: | You have 15 seconds to make a move manually. If you do not select a move within that period, your monster will fight automatically. |
6. Auto: | Switch auto-combat on/off. |
7. Switch: | Shows your inactive combat monsters. Tap on one to exchange your active monster for one of them. |
8. Seal: | Seal a monster within a Seal Card. |
9. Fast-forwarding: | Speeds up combat animations. |
10. Chat: | You can tap to access the chat rooms. |
11. Weather: | The weather conditions of the current battle. |
Combat Rules
When a battle starts, each side selects its active combat monster’s skill. The speed of the active monsters determines which side gets first hit. The battle ends when one side is no longer able to continue. If a monster has been defeated but additional monsters on that side are waiting for their turn, then the defeated monster and a waiting monster will automatically switch places. These switches, unlike manual switches, will not take up a turn. If all the monsters on one side are defeated, the opponent wins.
Switch monsters
You can switch monsters during combat.
Switching monsters takes up one of your turns, regardless of which monster has the higher speed.
Seal a monster
During ordinary fights, you can seal a monster using normal Seal Cards or coins. This action takes up one of your turns.
Usage of items
During combat, you can’t use items manually. However, the potions and jellies you’ve equipped before the challenge will activate automatically under certain circumstances. These actions will not take up a turn.
Battle Outcome
A battle ends when one side can no longer continue. If both sides take each other out at the same time, then the battle is a draw. (Draws in PVE are counted as losses.)
Unable to Combat
The conditions that take a monster out of combat:
HP reaches 0.
The PP of all the skills reaches 0.
A monster can no longer continue fighting if it meets any of the above criteria.
Debuffs
Certain debuffs will affect your monster during combat, causing them to lose a turn or take damage over time.
Confuse
Causes a monster to ignore its orders and attack any target, including itself, with its special abilities.
Effect duration: 2-5 rounds.
Burn
Decreases its target’s attack power and causes it to take additional damage at
the end of each turn.
Effect duration: Lasts until removed manually, when the battle ends, under rainy weather, or until the target can no longer fight. The effect still remains when a monster is recalled, although it will not cause any loss of health.
Poison
Causes its target to take additional damage at the end of each turn.
Effect duration: Lasts until removed manually or until the target can no longer fight. The effect still remains when a monster is recalled, although it will not cause any loss of health.
Severe Poison
More powerful than a Poison debuff. Causes the target to take more additional damage at the end of each turn. Becomes more effective as the battle continues and will overwrite a normal poison debuff.
Duration: Lasts for an indefinite number of turns. Can be removed manually, when the battle ends or when the target can no longer fight. The effect remains even after a monster is recalled, although it will not cause any loss of health.
Ensnare
Causes its target to take additional damage at the end of each turn. An ensnared monster cannot be switched.
Effect duration: 4-5 rounds.
Hypnotize
This debuff causes the target to fall into a deep sleep.
Effect duration: 1-3 rounds. The effect still remains when a monster is recalled.
Paralyze
This debuff decreases the target’s speed and has a chance of rendering it unable to make a move.
Effect: The monster’s speed will be reduced by 75%. Meanwhile, there is a 25% chance it will be unable to make a move.
Effect duration: Lasts until removed manually or until the target can no longer fight. The effect still remains when a monster is recalled.
Curse
Sacrifices 50% of the attacker’s health to put a curse on the target. Decreases the cursed monster’s health by 25% each turn.
Effect duration: Curses cannot be removed and will last until the target can no longer fight. The effect still remains when a monster is recalled, although it will not cause any loss of health.
Stun
Renders the target unable to do anything.
Effect duration: 1 round.
Freeze
This debuff freezes a monster in its place.
Effect duration: Lasts for an indefinite number of turns. Can be removed
manually or until the target can no longer fight. The effect still remains when
a monster is recalled.
Seduce
This debuff has a chance of causing the monster to become too infatuated to fight.
Effect duration: Lasts until removed manually, until either the seducer or the target is recalled or until the target can no longer fight.
2V2 Combat
In 2V2 combat, you and your teammate enter the fight with two monsters each (each team will thus have four monsters in total). Each teammate will send just one of his/her monsters onto the field at a time. Each teammate commands his/her respective monsters only.
In 2V2 combat, you need to select a target to attack, even if the attack does damage to more than one opponent.
Haypi Monster contains two types of PVP: the PVP Arena and the Ladder Tournament. You can get awesome rewards from defeating other players in PVP combat.
PVP
PVP Arena
Tap on the PVP arena on your home page to enter it. Create a room or enter the room of another player. Tap Start to begin your battle.
The system will match you with an opponent automatically. The battles are in manual, meaning you will have to select your monsters' skills.
You can get honor from participating in the PVP Arena. Honor can be exchanged for items in the Honor Shop.
Ladder Tournament
Tap the Activity blimp on your home page. Ladder Tournament battles are fought on auto-pilot, meaning you don’t need to select your monsters’ attacks.
You can get prestige from the Ladder Tournament. Prestige can be used to unveil certain monsters in your Encyclopedia. Once a monster has been unveiled, you can purchase it with money.
Dual Duel
Dual Duel is a two-monster battling system. A player can bring 4 monsters into combat and select the two that enter the battle ground. During Dual Duel, a player can command both monsters in the same turn.
If your monster uses a single-target skill, you must select the target at the beginning of the turn. Some skills, however, are AoE and will apply to multiple targets.
