My point was to keep at least one type of unit in your city to give your turrets extra rounds. If a defender controls their units properly, then the attacker will ALWAYS incur more losses than not having those troops out. You may still win the battle and gain good prestige, but this is about minimizing losses.

Please post a simulated battle scenario where you feel this is valid. I cannot see how a ranged unit advancing up the field is in any way affected by "blockers." You simply take them out whilst you advance ... archers / catapults can happily shoot one infantry AND a whole row of turrets on one round with ZERO extra losses. The only way it affects them is if you have a considerable amount of troops to "soak up" the damage cats can deal ... but then you're leaving enough to be what I would like to call "yummy prestige." Or perhaps you just want to farm them, and shut up their smack talking about their turrets. I hear too much about "how level 10 turrets outrange cats so you always lose cats .. you're safe with level 10 turrets!" .. C'MON! What the beajesus are they doing?

I've heard this from experts, too.

As Taem said, both of us take some pleasure in showing generals the futility of hiding behind turrets - with proper advancement and shielding the maximum loss is 6k prestige. In a bigger, pitched battle, your losses may be higher - but then the reward is greater so again, they're pointless.

Well, no .. pointless is going too far - but the number of people who leave 20-50k prestige laying around, on the assumption that their turrets will save their army, is quite funny. Convenient, too ... so perhaps I shouldn't argue the point?

noob tip - take down their turrets one day .. then if you see a few k's of prestige laying about 5 hours later you know you're in for an easy fight

As for city-dropping it doesn't bother me too much as a player would need to have a considerable amount of coins to city-drop on a regular basis. If a player wants to spend their (or their parents) money on buying lots of coins then more power to them. There is no perfect solution other than hunting your troops in time, however there are steps you can take to help mitigate your losses.

wasnt accusing you of being off topic, but now you are...this thread has nothing to do with turrets, but everything to do with city dropping. and if you only have a few units in your cities to protect your towers, i cant see why anyone would ever drop a city on you.

btw, your absolutely wrong about there being no perfect solutuion....in fact theres a very easy way to keep people from dropping cities on you, but it requuires you to know whos doing the dropping....hmmm ive said too much already!

Re: "city-dropping"

I didnt read through all the posts, first couple of pages and last one.
I feel something has been missed here...
oh yea, there it is.
Akd, who told you citydropping wasent intentional?
This game was beta tested and well thought out.
And you forget, the game industry is a business. Addictive games that have taken off so well in recent years are created for this purpose only. To make their creators money. If anything you can expect Haypi to add more coin uses to the game rather than take away. Imagine an option to refuse war while still being able to attack for 50coins a day. I can see the next few readers drooling over it... Riko certainly.

You mistake Haypi advertising this as a free game and actually meaning for it to be free and fair for all. This game is just like poker games on facebook, just like the farm games and all the other similar ones spawning every few minutes on apps and net.

You have caught the addiction. If your mind (and wallet) cant take the strain, you should ask a friend to change your pass and delete the app.

You seem to be an adult with a fully functional brain, so how did you confuse a business with fairplay and even worse, freeplay?
Why are some people addicted? (wont even start mentioning personal issues with this) Its psychological. As a species we enjoy beating the sh.. stuffing out of each other. This game gives us a vent for that mentality in a way real life cant do.

Think about it, every professionally made online game in existence falls into three categories.
1. monthly subscription
2. purchase special currency for bonuses (they can be coins, gems, magic dust or whatever your imagination can think of... all the same) or buy powered up items directly.
3. My favourite, both of the above. (wow has the flying crystal horse mount and so on now that you buy and redeem ingame for example)

Ive droned long enough.
Moral of the story is this: Behind the game is a real company looking for ways to suck more money from your pockets not less. You are living in a dream world.

Re: "city-dropping"

Wow that was quite cool.... I haven't spent any or maybe only a few pounds on this game and don't plan on spending anymore. I'm first on my server ( 33 ) by 23k Prestige without spending more than 50 coins worth of money. So there are ways of being first without spending a ridiclous amount of money. To solve city dropping ( Or give city droppers a reason to think before using their money ) you could just get lvl 10 hidden attack. The chances of someone seeing the attack are actually quite small and on noob servers It's a 100% chance of a hit. I'm responsible for the bottom 20 lvl 4 - 5's having the borderline prestige ( when you get wiped your prestige only goes down to your last lvl ) after I wiped the armies they'd spent real money on. So honestly buying coins doesn't give you that much of an advantage. You never need resources at high lvls because you can farm forts and city dropping can end up being a very bad waste of money If not used right.

Re: "city-dropping"

Yeah... Server 33... Wait when it's at least 2 weeks old and see if you can still stay number 1 without coins.

Haypi is a game of coins, the advantage of having coins is huge. Someone can start a month after you an catch up to you within days if they have lots of coins. If you want to continue to compete for top spot you need to spend coins sooner or later or you will just get left behind.

Re: "city-dropping"

what about instead of putting an attack limitation, you put a "city-dropping" limitation on the player instead? that way, we could still port and sneak attack, but not multiple times in any given timeframe, and the city you dropped in would be left near a possible counter attack from a nearby city/ally?

you need to add something, otherwise, you have no reason to bring it up, and that can be construed as spam.
