Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun
Pretty cool. What I dont get is when you are waiting cav and forwarding arch to get cav, inf, arch then cats, isnt that 4 or 5 rounds of cat pounding and 2 or 3 arch hits, assuming you have enough to kill all cav and inf in 1 round each ?? I dont see how they would survive? and shouldnt you hit cav, then arch, inf and then cats if any are left? I'm thinking that I have probably missed something lol.
Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun

Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun
Great guide.
When fighting against a player with cats and other units as meat shield, what should cav do to win? My opinion you would need to charge and not to allow enemy cats moving forward which gives them space to move backward. Then does it make sense to max defense first and then speed so you can survive as many attacks as you can? How many cavs are killed per 1 cat if cav has max defense?
Thanks. I really like cav army but got very annoyed when you can't hit cats that is retrieving.

Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun
Great to see a guide that is not just about cats.
Would you have a chart on how many cav it takes per lvl of fort or oasis

I repeat ryanincc's question.
heres the scenario. both player max speed army. both players max techs equip etc.
me attacker have 10k inf, 20k cav, 50k archer.
defender have 20k inf, 20k cata.
field has lvl 10 turrets.
what is best attacking order for me if the other player IS NOT COMMANDING?
I simply do not see how you ask me to move archers forward more than 2 rounds and have them survive a complete pounding by enemy catas.
again, great guide otherwise, and thank you for it.

Move them forward first r round. This should let u kill all the infantry. If u have good techs and stats. Then go backwards if necessary 2nd round. 3rd round send csv full force and they will get hot 4th round move archers and cab forward and u should own his vats
Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun
If he has lv 10 turrets, the field is 1350. If his cats stick to the back row, that leaves you with (1350-960) 390 to play with. Your archers only have 343 speed so you're ok to move forward on the first turn. you won't hit anything at all on the first move forward if he has lv 10 turrets and keeps all units on the back row. I've tried and tested that you can't hit turrets on the first move forward, not even the first row. There are two ways to go about this. One is to send only archers and infantry forward for the first turn. You'll lose your infantry this way, but keep your cavalry. The second turn, target his cats with your archers and put cavalry on forward. Now you have 1350-343*2 (1350-686=664 so you'll hit the cats if you have max range of 720) You don't have enough archers to kill his catapults regardless of how you play this so your cav will be the winners here. You should kill around 5-10k cats with the archers, your cavalry will end a little bit in front of their first row of lv 10 turrets. Once you hit, their cats will counter and ALSO get an attack of their own. This will likely kill most to all of your archers, but if not, you'll counter his cat's attack. End of turn. Next turn, your cav will go forward and destroy 1-2 rows of turrets, your archers will attack again with a counter that will auto-kill your archers. You might be able to hit his cats with your cavalry, but I sincerely doubt it. His cats will hit your cavalry, but will do very minimal damage with half of his units remaining. If he's smart, he will also put his infantry on forward for a small hit as well. Your cavalry will counter and kill his infantry. Cats do MUCH less damage in close combat. You will kill his cats next turn with your cav. This can only end with you having cavalry remaining, you don't have enough archers to kill 20k cats. Sorry
.
In the other scenario, you will move whatever is left of your archers after your initial attack backwards, to save you some prestige. Target his infantry if you do, but don't move backwards more than once. They're just in case you don't kill all of his infantry, you need help with turrets, or you need that hit on his few remaining cats in the case that he gets a really good lucky attack.
In reality, you shouldn't attack 20k cats with 50k archers bc you need at least 5-10 times their cats, in archers.
There's another way, but it will most likely end up in a loss. You move all units forward. He hits your cavalry with everything right off the bat. In the first scenario, your cavalry were moving forward while your archers were duking it out with their cats, leaving only their turrets to hit you. You actually might still win in this scenario just because cats have such diminished damage against close range units, but you will lose a lot more cavalry, which are worth more. You may or may not lose all archers in this scenario, because your cavalry are doing almost all of the work, leaving your archers to choose when to strike their cats. Either way, if you don't finish off his cats with your archers, you'll take a lot of damage, but his cats may be so pre-occupied with with your cavalry, that they leave your archers. You may even get a second turn of decent damage with your archers this way, but you could also lose a ton more this way if you hit his cats before your cav hit his cats.... his cats will have damaged your cavs on the forward and still got their counter against your archers.
If you do this, i'd love to see the battle report
If he's really smart, he'll move his cats forward when he pushes infantry forward to hit your cav. This'll be targeted at archers and will give him leeway to move backwards right before your cav hit. Cavs can't hit retreating cats.... Though for some reason, they can on s27. I think that all units move at the same time and if you have enough speed to escape his attack, you do...if going in reverse.
There's another alternative if you fight him in a place where his cats determine the field length. This is actually a pretty dirty trick... Remove your horse and manual before you send your attack. This will put your archer speed below 300. We all know that field length is max range+range tech+ 300!!!!
This means your archers have free reign to move forward on turn one. Normally, a field range where cats determine the field length will make cats able to hit archers that move forward.... at all. (if they have 300+ speed) Since in this situation, your archer speed is below 300, they can only hit your infantry. This is the best scenario for you. You'd push only archers forward, pushing cav, archers, and inf the next turn. Their cats will fight with your archers while your cavs move forward. Target cats will all units. You'll still lose a lot of archers on their counter attack, but you'll lose FAR less units. You'll lose less anyways bc there won't be turrets gunning you on your first move.

Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun
Someone should make an infantry guide!!!! I trained 1k infantry on S33 and got attacked by 100 cats and won ( somehow lol ). I had maxed speed and maxed treasures as well. I only took 400 infantry losses so still got prestige. Maybe one to think about...
