A simple request

I understand things have pretty much exploded on the forum today with the loss of Vayne as head mod and everyone sharing their opinions.

I would like, however, to ask a very simple favour of the Haypi Community.
Please keep in mind that children play this game and we have a responsibility as people to maintain enough decency to NOT corrupt others.

The threads with mass use of bad language and terrible behaviour are absolutely unnecessary and rather saddening.

So here I am asking you all to please, please curb your tongues (fingers) and respect others while voicing your opinions.

Thanks, Adina.

Re: A simple request

Before users submit their rights to Haypi's Totalitarianism Society, all users must agree to Apple's Terms and Conditions which supersede all. Below is the link so please educate yourselves.

http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#APPS

certain points i personally love to debate are

These Services are available for individuals aged 13 years or older. If you are 13 or older but under the age of 18, you should review this Agreement with your parent or guardian to make sure that you and your parent or guardian understand it

We don't need a constant reminder kids play this game. Which leads me to my next point i love

You understand that by using the Services, you may encounter material that you may deem to be offensive, indecent, or objectionable, and that such content may or may not be identified as having explicit material. Nevertheless, you agree to use the Services at your sole risk and Apple shall have no liability to you for material that may be found to be offensive, indecent, or objectionable. Product types and descriptions are provided for convenience, and you agree that Apple does not guarantee their accuracy.

It's the sole responsibility of the parent to limit what their kids are exposed to. Being online in general you will come across views contrary to your own which you may find offensive. I'm simply saying accept the fact that its bound to happen and it's out of our control so stop parenting.

Re: A simple request

You have issues with me making a simple request to be mindful?

Just because it's the parents responsibility to raise the child, doesn't mean I or WE need to flaunt bad language and the like because 'it's not our responsibility'.
Let me tell you something. As a DECENT human being, you would care how you affect the younger generations.
In my opinion, by stating all that you just did, I deem you as a selfish and immoral person.

I reiterate my initial request to keep the forums free of disgusting behavior and or comments.

Thanks.

Let me tell you something. As a DECENT human being, you would care how you affect the younger generations.

A decent person would suggest less video games, for the youth of this generation face obesity and lack of communication-verbally. Give a youth a phone and they will chat up a storm. Now ask him in person and they wouldnt know how to express themselves. As if the phone was an extension of their bodies.

Adina329 wrote:In my opinion, by stating all that you just did, I deem you as a selfish and immoral person.

You see selfish and immoral, i see encouraging free thought and empowering. The youth face issues regardless and they've managed without the protection of big brother/sister. You have seemed to underestimate them in making the right decision. Putting them in a bubble isnt the answer for it will only produce naive individuals incapable of fending for themselves. Kinda like the drug commercials you see. Dismissing the fact drugs are available doesnt mean kids wont fall victim. Now if they are educated on the matter they will less likely fall victim. Not to mention who's to say where the bubble/filter would end. Seeing other views contrary to your own encourages free thought which is what the youth need, to find what they most agree with instead of following the masses like sheep.

Contrary to your belief forums are for the discussion of questions of public interest. Remember we are all different and what you say might offend others just as he has offended you.

Re: A simple request

A public forum discussing how cool people think they are because they indulge in self destructive behaviours (ie, taking harmful drugs) is not going to educate.
On the contrary, if you give freedom of speech on such matters to all, the likelihood that these things will seem appealing is far higher than the chance it will deter them.

Like the original point, it is a parents job to educate or oversee their education on these things and as a community that supposedly cares about how it affects others, it's safer left well alone.

I'm amazed by the people in here and their notion that it has to be all or nothing.
One person is all it takes to make a difference to another. Just because some information may be available elsewhere, doesn't mean it needs to be here.
Just because we may not be the difference between A and B, doesn't mean we shouldn't bother.
I'll always do my part to do what's right and completely regardless of Haypi and it's rules, I would not speak voluntarily like I was born in a gutter to another person especially those younger.
I know from experience that I only cussed, smoked etc because others around me were doing it and made it seem cool.
Anyone of an adult age would probably tell you the same.
If it wasn't there, available, being made to seem cool, we would have never made some of the mistakes we made.

And I really don't see how my asking people to refrain from foul language has gotten you all debate happy.
It's common sense and common decency. You simply can't argue with that and come out unscathed.
