A public forum discussing how cool people think they are because they indulge in self destructive behaviours (ie, taking harmful drugs) is not going to educate.
On the contrary, if you give freedom of speech on such matters to all, the likelihood that these things will seem appealing is far higher than the chance it will deter them.
Like the original point, it is a parents job to educate or oversee their education on these things and as a community that supposedly cares about how it affects others, it's safer left well alone.
I'm amazed by the people in here and their notion that it has to be all or nothing.
One person is all it takes to make a difference to another. Just because some information may be available elsewhere, doesn't mean it needs to be here.
Just because we may not be the difference between A and B, doesn't mean we shouldn't bother.
I'll always do my part to do what's right and completely regardless of Haypi and it's rules, I would not speak voluntarily like I was born in a gutter to another person especially those younger.
I know from experience that I only cussed, smoked etc because others around me were doing it and made it seem cool.
Anyone of an adult age would probably tell you the same.
If it wasn't there, available, being made to seem cool, we would have never made some of the mistakes we made.
And I really don't see how my asking people to refrain from foul language has gotten you all debate happy.
It's common sense and common decency. You simply can't argue with that and come out unscathed.
