I'm having an issue where the last two times I've been attacked my traps have not done the damage they should.
Both attackers had at least 2000 inf, but my level 6 traps only took at 400 each time. My understanding from others is I should expect the traps to take out more in the area of 1500 for all traps.
That comes to 29 inf / trap when I was expecting much more.
Are there other factors that influence the effectiveness of traps?
Thanks.
The only way I came up with 29 inf per trap, per my calculations that I did 3 times, is to use 1% per point in defense instead of .5% as it is supposed to be. Unless Infantry get mad boosts against traps, this is unusual...
I took 10,000 for the lv6 trap damage. Then I took the defense stat of 75 and added all max stats and halved them for percentages, like it said in the forums and per the confirmed algorithm i sent to support for confirmation a week or two ago, I did some math. Turned out that with max equips, max defense tech, and max points in defense, I was getting the result 34.6 infantry per trap. Which did NOT happen here.
I then wonder then if troop stats, against at least traps, are 1% instead of .5% as in the tutorial (speed of course staying at 1%). I tried this out and got 28.67 which rounds up to 29. There's your answer, take the 100% from maxed defense attribute, add the 20% for max defense stat, and then add 45% for max equips....165%. Add 165% to 75=198.75. Add that to 150(health)=348.75. Then take 10000(lv6 trap) and divide it by 348.75=28.67. Round up to 29.
There is the possibility that Infantry might just get added defense to traps not listed anywhere that I can find. I'll ask support about this to confirm my suspicion on this, if they know.
Using the .5% rules you should have lost anywhere between 34 and 45 infantry per trap. meaning either defense is 1% per point for infantry (at least against traps) or infantry get between a 65%-83% added defense against traps. I figured out minimum and maximum damage, then took 29 and divided it by both 34 and 45 to get those percentages.
In your math, did you remember to include the automatic 10% from having a natural 20 in defense (20% if it really is 1% now). Then equips and techs could have been maxed as well as having a good defense. ^^
I REALLY hope this answers your question and that i'm correct on one of those two equations at least. LOL. The idea of infantry getting added defense against traps makes me a little angry though.

I WOULD LOVE A SCREEN SHOT OF THAT WAR REPORT IF YOU CAN PM IT TO ME.
