Question about Fort Traps

What do you guys do when you see traps in forts?

Ive been just sacrificing infantry to deal with it. But now that I am getting to higher level forts, I have to sacrifice a lot more infantry, and was wondering if there is any other way?

Re: Question about Fort Traps

Sacrificing infantry is the cheapest method by far.
I would personally not be caught dead sending anything else into traps.

Re: Question about Fort Traps

I once waited out the twenty turns to see if that helped. It didn't -_- I didn't get any resources.

Re: Question about Fort Traps

Lol no, waiting will do you no good.
Prestige isn't an issue when attacking npcs so you're fine in that respect. You want to be taking a fair amount of infantry with you anyway to carry the resources back.
In short, when fort farming there's no too much of infantry and you shouldn't be losing even a twentieth at most of what you take to traps.

Re: Question about Fort Traps

Does anyone have a handle on how the ratio of trap level: troops captured.

I know lvl 1= 1 captured
lvl 2 = 11 captured

Using this logic, should a lvl 3 trap capture 100+?

Re: Question about Fort Traps

I just send cavalry through it since I don't use infantry.

That's kind of a tough question cpdcp. And the real answer is that it just depends on the attack stats of the person with the traps and the defense stats of the attacker walking into those traps. But for a general idea, you can assume level 1 players who have not upgraded any of their stats. So for that, traps basic attack stats are as follows:

ATTACK POWER
1. 200
2. 2,000
3. 4,000
4. 6,000
5. 8,000
6. 10,000
7. 12,000
8. 14,000
9. 16,000
10. 18,000

(shout out to Vayne as I stole these numbers from a really old post of his)

And yes, the numbers would vary a little from this even in the beginning due to all players starting out with some points in the attack attribute, but I am ignoring that for simplicity sake.

Next you need to know that an infantry unit has 150 health and 75 defense. So for a trap to take out one infantry it needs an attack of 225 (150 + 75).

So basically each trap (with base stats on everything) will take out the following number of infantry:

1. 200/225 = 0.889 = 1
2. 2,000/225 = 8.889 = 9
3. 4,000/225 = 17.778 = 18
4. 6,000/225 = 26.667 = 27
5. 8,000/225 = 35.556 = 36
6. 10,000/225 = 44.444 = 44
7. 12,000/225 = 53.333 = 53
8. 14,000/225 = 62.222 = 62
9. 16,000/225 = 71.111 = 71
10. 18,000 /225 = 80

And I would think these should be the high levels of infantry you should be concerned with losing when attacking a fort (since that's what this topic is about) as I think forts only have basic stats and I would assume the majority of players have at least put a little in defense or have bought a piece of armor.

Hopefully this is helpful.

Chris, I appreciate you taking the time to explain in detail. This should help me calculate my defense strategy.

Re: Question about Fort Traps

My understanding is that traps will decrease one lvl after each attack.

So for example:

lvl 3 trap attack = 4000..... assuming this trap is stepped on by infantry whose life plus defence = 250 (4000/250=16) The traps first attack should eliminate 16 infantry.

Now the trap reduces a level to lvl 2.... lvl 2 trap attack = 2000 ..... the same "statted" infantry again steps on this trap..... (2000/250=8) The traps second attack should eliminate 8 infantry.

Now the trap reduces to a level 1 attack = 200 .... (200/250=0.8) .... The traps third attack elimates 1 infantry.

Finally the trap is clear after eliminating a total of (16+8+1=25)

Does this make sense, or have I wandered down a dark and winding path???

Re: Question about Fort Traps

I already know most of the stats posted here.

The reason I came to the forums is because I had to lose 300+ inf to fort traps, and it seemed kind of much, and just wanted to make sure there is no other way of doing this. (for example, waiting out the 20 turns, and then attacking again, didn't know if the traps would still be there) But I guess compared to the resources I'm getting from the fort, it shouldn't be a big deal.
