Buying Coins and getting raided

Hi everyone, this is my first MMO, and it's taking a bit of getting used to, but I think I am managing it, well I keep running out of resources and I can't upgrade as fast as I'd like, but that is the nature of the game I guess.

Anyway, I have a question, and I hope it's not seen as a silly one.

I am thinking of purchasing a coin pack but am worried that if someone attacks me that the coins that I have purchased are able to be raided and taken.

Can someone let me know if this is the case?

Basically I wouldn't want to pay out money for a bunch of coins only to then have them taken in one or two attacks from an enemy(s).

Any info would be good.
