Relics of the Gods

My 2nd submission, this one I put in some more thought and I actually researched the god's and goddesses' symbolic items! This is shorter and more concise but it still brings a pretty good story in my opinion! Remember to post feedback on what is good and bad! Thanks!

Note to Haypi: Story uses Greek Gods but can be replaced with any other god name or being!
_________

In the beginning, the Gods shaped the world we know of. Gods created the ocean, the land, the mountains, the lakes, and more. The first humans that lived on this world experienced freedom, happiness, and bliss. They had no worries and no problems, until the Gods began to bicker over who did what.

To represent their work, a few gods and goddesses left artifacts, or relics, that possessed great power. Aphrodite, the goddess of love and seduction, enchanted a magnificent scallop shell that possessed the power to seduce any man in the world. The god of sun, Apollo, left an enchanted lyre that would captivate any person that would listen to the music of it. Ares, the god of war, produced a lethal spear that could pierce through any armor and mortally would lesser beings. Artemis, the goddess of hunt and wilderness, fletched a sturdy bow that could shoot an arrow at inhumane accuracy from hundreds of feet away. Athena, the goddess of wisdom, fabricated a golden aegis that could guard the user from any form of attack. The goddess of fertility and harvest, Demeter, fashioned a lotus staff that would grant the owner large amounts of success when harvesting and planting. Hera, goddess of empires and kings, left a silver diadem that would grant the wearer royalty and power. And Hermes, the god of travel and messages, parted with his winged sandals, that would give the user incredible speed and agility.

The gods bickered and fought with one another until Zeus, Ruler of all Gods, was angered by their childish behavior. He ordered his brother Poseidon, god of the ocean, to flood the world until the gods had vacated the world. And with the giant flood, the relics disappeared into the oceans.

---

Years passed and humans have prospered with the gods watching passively overhead. Humans are no longer primitive creatures and held strong objects of power at this point. Then one day, buried deep inside of the ground, a piece of evidence was revealed that depicted that the eight relics of the gods existed in the ocean, buried miles deep throughout the millenniums.

With the knowledge of relics, each of the current ten nations dispatched thousands of eager relic hunters to find the relics. The nations have begun competing for the relics and the journey will get rough. Time will only tell who will find the eight relics and use the rumored secret power of all eight artifacts combined...

Sorry Mike,

I couldn't tell if that was a positive or negative comment. Could you please be a bit more contructive in your criticism please?

Re: Relics of the Gods

Oh, is it the usage of Greek Gods not being original? That is the only thing that I can think of which would be negative, since Greek Gods is not from media or specific site or author.

I guess it does kinda clash with originality but I can just as well just rename all the gods and it would technically essentially be the same story ;)

Re: Relics of the Gods

Greek gods are totally fair game. No worries there. Its a nice story though. I might suggest being a little more specific on what the "piece of evidence" was, especially since you were so specific with the relics.

Re: Relics of the Gods

Nice idea and research. But could you clarify how much time has passed between the gods fighting and the time which the game takes place? Is it still B.C. Or perhaps now, or even the year 3000?
