So I just got my whole army wiped out recently and was contemplating changing my main troop type. Before I was using cats, but the thing is, everyone uses those. So what are the advantages/disadvantages to diff types of troops and the like? Some detailed info would be highly appreciative
also, what I should spend my attribute points on to accent the troop type. As well as techs. Please and thank you

cavs are ultimate for raiding, and in large numbers, are really good at taking forts. this is very biased, but archers suck, and are only good as fodder, to keep your main force (cavs) from being murdered.

Every army combination have their advantages and disadvantages, the key is to understand the strength and weaknesses of each army and find one you are comfortable with.
If your level is low or you are fairly new to the game, stick to inf/cats combination as it is the most efficient set up for farming forts and fighting against most players.
Once you become more experienced you can make more cavs and try a cav/cats combination, this combination is stronger than the inf/cats combination but requires a large amount of crops to be effective.
There are way more combinations and within each combination there are different ratios and support army make up, so no perfect setup but you just need to try to find the one you're most comfortable with.

I like that backburner. Is there a way you can be a little more in-depth about some combos and the strenghths? Like cav only with minimal cats was one idea I was leaning toward.

Cav/cats with cavs as main army is a combination that alot of people do try but ultimately give up in the end to conver back to a cav/cats with cats as main or cav/archer army.
This combination is very good in theory, since you cover all basis with cavs to take out your opponent while cats and deal with potential blockers and turrets, as well as able to wipe out low level opponents out cleanly. However this combination suffers from a few short falls.
1. You will have a harder time to farm forts, cavs are not a very efficient army to use to farm forts compare to inf/cats, in order to farm forts with cavs you will need a very large amount and a considerably higher crop consumption.
2. One of the cav's greatest strength in attack is their speed, not just their speed on the battlefield but also their speed on the world map. If you use a main cav army but still brings cats you do not properly utilize that speed. I would persoanlly prefer the inf/cats combo if I have to stand the slow travelling time. As you are more likely to wipe out most opponent cleanly and inf are better to clear trap with than cavs as you lose less in terms of prestige.
A more effective set up that utilise the cav speed more is the cav/archer combo, however this combo is more difficult to command and again it can be countered by a cav/cats army with cats as the main army.
In the end these are all theories, however I would recommend not using cav as your main army before level 15 as you won't be able to maintain a large enough horde of cavs before that to fight effectively.

i think uranos is saying that there can be an infinite number of possibilities and outcomes to match an infinite combination of armies.
