Ways to gain prestige
1. Training troops
2. Attacking other players
3. Upgrading buildings and resource fields
4. Building traps and turrets
5. Hunting
I have split this guide into different sections based on the method of gaining prestige. If you feel I need to add or change anything, feel free to let me know!
Training Troops
For all of the “training troops” methods, an important thing is to try to always have all slots for training troops filled in all cities. Also, I will assume that you have level 20 buildings and at least level 15 resource fields. Also remember that when building, you gain prestige by this formula: Total resource consumption*(1-(level/30)) rounded to the nearest whole number = prestige per unit built. Example: You're training one catapult and you're level 10. The crop consumption of 1 catapult is 10, so its 10*(1-(10/30))= approximately 6.7, when rounded it is 7. So if you are level 10 and training one catapult, you get 7 prestige. You also need about 15000 cavalry to farm maximum resources in one attack.
Farming Inactive Players:
This is one of the best ways to get prestige in the game. In order to do this effectively, I recommend at least having either 12000 infantry OR 3000 cavalry. The first step in this method is to scout around your area and find at least 5 players that have 200000 or more resources and that are inactive (a good way to tell if they are inactive is if their resources are maxed out, or if they don’t have any oasises) and then add them to your favorites list. Try to keep within 10 minutes (infantry time) from your city. Then attack the first person on your list enough times so that you have maximum or almost maximum resources. Then train the troops of your choice. Then continue attacking that person and training troops until your 5 attack per day limit is used up or that person runs out of resources. Then move on to your next farm; when that farm is finished move on to your next and so on. Using this method, you can easily make 10k-50k prestige per day if you have enough troops and speed and time on your hands.
Farming Unoccupied Forts:
This is another commonly used method to gain prestige. I would recommend at least 20000 cavalry OR 8000 catapults to do this method to its fullest (although you can farm level 1 forts with as little as 300 catapults, or 3000 cavalry). As in the farming inactives part of this guide, you should first look around your area for about 5 or more unoccupied forts of the highest level that you can farm. Here is a list of recommended army sizes to farm each level fort (Note that this isn’t the amount needed to take [this is more than needed], but it is the number that I personally would send to FARM it. Also, you should also send infantry or cavalry along with the catapults to take back more resources at a time):
Level 1: 500 catapults OR 2000 cavalry
Level 2: 800 catapults OR 4000 cavalry
Level 3: 1000 catapults OR 7000 cavalry
Level 4: 1600 catapults OR 13000 cavalry
Level 5: 2500 catapults OR 17000 cavalry
Level 6: 4000 catapults OR 30000 cavalry
Level 7: 7000 catapults OR 40000 cavalry
Level 8: 10000 catapults OR 60000 cavalry
Level 9: 15000 catapults OR 90000 cavalry
Level 10: 22000 catapults OR 120000 cavalry
Once you’ve got some forts in your area, attack until they are completely out of resources. Make sure that you are there to command your troops so you don’t loose many though!
Attacking Other Players
Standard Attack:
If someone near you has left out troops and it’s enough to give you a good amount of prestige (Prestige in battle is: 10 per catapult killed, 4 per cavalry killed, 2 per archer killed, and 1 per infantry killed. This is if there are no losses on the winning side, but I won’t get into the more advanced formulas for now…), you should attack them. Always send much more troops than they have out; to deal with traps/turrets, or if they bring back extra troops to defend themselves from a hunt. Make sure you scout every few minutes to check if they’ve got more or less troops then before. If you have any, I’d bring cavalry or infantry to feed their traps with, and catapults to take out the turrets.
Cropping:
This is an extremely effective method, but some players consider it unethical (I personally don’t). It is also known as starving. When cropping someone, start by finding ALL of the player’s oasises. Once you’ve done that, send 1-20 cavalry at each of them to take them (or more if needed). Make sure that if they take any oasises back or get new ones that you immediately take them. The goal here is to starve your opponent’s troops. Once their crop oasises are taken, their crop output should be negative. Once their crop output gets to zero, their troops will come back from hunting. Attack the player’s city a few times to deal with traps/turrets, and to take even more crop, so they starve faster. Once the opponent’s troops get back from hunting because of starvation, attack with your full army and get the prestige!
Warping:
This is another extremely effective method to gain prestige with, but it is very costly. For each warp it costs 40 coins. This is also known as city-dropping. If a player far away from you has left out lots of troops (more than 10000 prestige worth of troops, or else it’s not really worth it…), then you might consider warping them. When warping, first send your army that you’ll attack with to your branch city next to you (if you have one there). Then spend the coins to move right next to the person, attack them quickly, and then move back to your original spot.
