Poll: When will Haypi get it?

First off, please forgive me. I don't know how to quote you back, so I have to apologize if my responses might get lost.

I say this because of experience. I know of an expert under the age of 18 that is a very excellent example. However, he/she is only one among many. I have had run-ins with experts under the age of 18, and they are almost universally negative. Yes, I know, I'm Foamcups, the jerk who antagonizes experts yada yada. I can't convince anyone otherwise, even if I do admit that I have been guilty of that before and freely admit it.

Now. A few examples:

Expert A. Had me banned for openly arguing with them about open acts of power abuse. Was then found guilty of cheating profusely through any number of servers. Was promptly removed of their expert title. Under 18.

Expert B. A protege of Expert A. Was fully aware of Expert A's infractions and did nothing to stop it. Has banned me twice now, without a warning, or a mute. Just an outright ban. I still haven't heard back from support why. But this same expert will warn PROFUSELY his friends and ally mates. I have never seen a friend or alliance mate muted, much less banned. But I have seen NUMEROUS warnings. Under 18.

Expert C. Muted me for saying, and I quote, "Microsoft is a joke." Expert C then proceeded to personally insult me, and when I defended myself, quite politely, if strident, I was muted. Under 18.

Im not just spewing this garbage out. It's rooted in experience.

I know this is a double, but I tried repeatedly to edit and only screwed the post up. So I apologize again.

I left out my reasoning for an 18+ rule. It's pretty much the opposite. I know every expert on S1. The experts that are older (Oh god please don't hate me I mean no offense, I know that sounds bad but I don't mean it) are fair, mature, and very reserved in wc. They mute when warranted, not any other time. They warn you fairly. They warn you politely. They give you the chance to rectify your behavior. The experts in question look at muting as a last resort. And they treat it like that too. They don't actively hunt players that aren't afraid to tell them that what they did was wrong. They are by no means soft. But they are fair to both alliance mates and friends. These same experts have communicated to me very honestly their thoughts on an age rule. These same experts all argued my ban when it happened, and are people I consider to be very fine citizens of this game.

Once again, sorry for the double, I'm iPhone stupid. I know how to call people, play on the Internet, and take pictures.

Foamcups; I would hve to agree with you other than the fact some under 18 experts are the best; it just differs but I do believe haypi should take a deeper look into who gets expert and what they do under pressure;

Thank you Xash. I would like to say for the record that I am not trying to cowboy this thread into an expert conduct discussion. I was asked to validate a part of my original post, and that's what I'm doing. So please don't think I'm on here just to rant, because I'm not.

Well foam, if your banned their was sufficient proof, you don't just get banned. In expert A's case, you should not have been arguing with him about power abuse, the rules clearly say to report it and to seize discussion of it on world chat. From what I have seen and heard your second ban seems fair, and I would have made the same move. And for Expert C, I don't think that is the whole story... Just my opinion.

I've got ss of expert c. You can view them at your leisure, just say when. As for expert a, it seems to me to be very hypocritical to defend any actions taken by him whatsoever. This goes back to your point about "background research". How much was done on him, to allow such behavior? And to have a fellow expert knowledgeable of acts like that, and not report them.

This is part of the problem. The culture of haypi is that to question any act taken by an expert, even if blatantly against the rules, is, by law, mutable. How is that supposed to foster an environment that stimulates return business? Especially with support overflowing with work, to the point where any reports, letters, pms, et cetera, can go unanswered for days, if not weeks?

Servers are dying. People are leaving. And we can all sit here and pretend that expert conduct doesn't play a roll in that. That's fine. But I won't. I've dealt with experts since day one. And since day one, there had always been corruption of some sort in the ranks of expert. This is understandable, there will always be either bad apples, people not ready for the responsibility, or just plain mistakes. But every single mod in these forums will automatically quote rules and side with any expert without seeing ss, and seemingly without thinking critically. Dev, we've played this game for a long time. And we both know, whether you're willing to admit it or not, that there are experts, currently, that don't deserve the title. I understand you might be in a sensitive position to comment on that in public, but, not to be rude, I would appreciate it if you don't patronize me by jumping to the aid of the experts I've cited above.

This is the culture that we have. Defend, deny, or cover up. And it is a contributing factor to people leaving this game. And if you're more comfortable defending unlawful actions to preserve the wall of silence, that's ok. But don't begrudge others for admitting in public that there are problems that need to be solved. Because it's the truth, and everyone knows it. Once again, I'm not bashing or insulting, just speaking honestly.

I have to agree with foam for the most part.. Having young experts creates more problems than it solves. Most of the adult players in haypi are coin buyers and they hate the idea of going on wc and having to listen to someone who is old enough to be their son/daughter. But like most of you said, there are a few exceptions...

isnt there like a 10 year old expert? what does it matter? u have to earn expert, age dosent matter here.
