Atten: GURUS (guides?)

I'm just wondering if there is anyplace on this forum where people place guides. Especially guides on more advanced strategies. I need some in depth battle guides with some specifics on how the game calculates wins and losses.
Also,I know there aren't specific rules on who you can attack but are ther kind of unspoken rules about, for instance, a level 12 person clearing out a level 5 person cause they left their troops in their city? Or about this rediculas undefendible cropping nonsense. (personally seems a little like cheating, I can't make myself do it.) but if that's what everybody does, how can I keep up with out doing it?
I think I have gone just about as high as I'm going to go following the basic rules of the game, I'm pretty sure there is a whole other layer to it, but I need something laid out step by step. Any of you brilliant players willing to write one? Or at least tell me where I can find one?
