Prolonged display bug is ridiculous

I am surprised there hasn't been more of an outcry over this bug.

It makes it very difficult to play the game effectively. In my opinion a bug of this magnitude should have been fixed within hours not days/weeks while waiting on a new client to come out.

Can you guys please email support and put a little pressure on them to fix this bug NOW.

If you are talking about everybody being level 1 on the map, I believe haypi has already submitted an update to Apple and so now we are at the mercy of Apple right now...

EDIT: The thread reflecting this is located here

Re: Prolonged display bug is ridiculous

Hey, we are just players like you waiting for the updates.

As of now, the update is at the Apple's hand and not the dev teams. Even if they fix the bugs, they have to send the bug fixes to Apple, then Apple has to review the udpate and get it approved.

Now Apple is busy reviewing many apps that has been submitted to them. That means they can only do a certain amount of apps a day. It can take a few days or even few weeks to get the apps approved by Apple. then a few days to get it on the app store.

Please be patient as the update is no longer in haypi's hand, but at the apple's hand. However, the haypi dev team can tell us if the review has been passed by apple as they can monitor that.

Here's what doesn't make sense to me though. If you're able to edit the map without submitting a client update, shouldn't you be able to edit it back to normal right away? (possibly via server maintenance)

A forum post should be like a skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

At last someone speaking some sense - the maintenance issue with people being all at lvl 1 on the map was NOT caused by a client update in the first place - it was a server update so it COULD be fixed with another server update / fix.

I'm also very much surprised that the Haypi people are using Apple as an excuse to have this problem addressed where it could be fixed on the server side - you have to remember that this problem was introduced by the Haypi folks as a result of the server maintenance / whatever changes they made....

Not having addressed it yet is pretty mind blowing and unprofessional to me....

Re: Prolonged display bug is ridiculous

What I understand from it is that the server maintenance updated the server-side code, and the current client had some sort of unexpected (or maybe even expected) incompatibility which the updated client compatibilizes.

I see it as like a leap frog game. The server maintenance jumped the code out in front of the client, and now we are just waiting on the client to catch up.

If I have my temporal analysis correctly based on Thomas's comment, then the client update was submitted BEFORE the server maintenance was performed. I may be wrong about this, but it stands to reason that this might be the case.

Might it be possible you haven't seen much of an outcry because we are all dealing with it because it is no big deal?

Re: Prolonged display bug is ridiculous

You're very likely right, WxWarn. I'll tell you one thing - you can control _when_ you can make an approved app available in the store.

So, had they been waiting for the app to have been approved (while being flagged as NOT FOR SALE), they could have pushed the server maintenance a little bit before (like a day) and then make the client available, instead of pushing the server update like a week ahead or to some unknown timeline as they are now at the mercy of Apple approval timing process which is totally unpredictable. Anyhow...
