Re: Should the new chat rule get removed?

its 6-8 lines according to my expert>.> but its pretty much their discretion and taem those are cool. if support told me to mute you for that i never would. things like that are unique. but 8 lines is enough for an alliance ad.

Who said we would mute you taem :) you get 3 - 5 warnings, which means you can post three a day.... unless they get annoying....

Re: Should the new chat rule get removed?

technically thats not a spam. its not an alliance ad

if that is considered spam me typing up a long message would be spam?

I'm "meh" about this rule. I don't think 'a post' should be limited in length, as long as it serves to add to or create a discussion, that's chat. Taem's artworks are loved on s13 .. exempting people on the other side of an inbox of war reports

Mindless ads however, should probably have some discretionary limit.

It's obvious if an alliance has something to say, or not.

"Join xx!! Ranked 612 and rising FAST! Level 1+ We offer protection!" mixed in with 400 random emoji is spam, no doubt.

I would, however, happily read a 20 line advert posted that actually says something about what they stand for, if anything.

I just wish experts could see that, and not look at a 9 line advert, and say "8 lines or less, second warning" whilst lurking silently and not answering genuine questions that pop up in chat .. which are left to people like me & a generous few to answer. There are exceptions, but the number of times I've known an expert to lurk deliberately is getting silly.

The 'experts as chat moderators' issue really 'grinds my gears' lately :x

Re: Should the new chat rule get removed?

Personally I think it should be up to the expert weather it is fine or not. if they have an add that is a little longer but they arent spamming it posting it every 5 min or so I think it is fine. I have seen some wonderful emoji art made that might get muted because of this new rule.
