Speed and cav attacks

I've heard that the more speed your unit possesses (i.e. Cav with max speed) the more damage it will deal.

Is it true that how far you move with your cav affects their attack strength?

If so, does anyone know the formula?

While this may be the case, I was told this by a very experienced vet, so please expound on your sentiments, ballaz23....

No, it's a lie. No amount of speed will increase your attack damage, HOWEVER, speed does dictate who will attack first in a round and how far your units move. That being said, if you can clear the distance between you and an army of cats without taking a hit, you will have more cavs attacking those cats, and in that sense, will deal more damage. Same with fighting other cav armies, if you attack first as a result of higher speed, they return fire with what's left.

Just for reference, as this comes up when discussing speed, if speed is even, the defender attacks first.

Re: Speed and cav attacks

Kk well I guess you can lock this thread now. The vet who told me said he learnt that from you havardr..... So if you say it's not true, it settles it in my book.
Can you please try and answer my other post, bro?
I was told you'd know the formula for how damage is determined in battle.

I tend to be long-winded sometimes and some of my writups are mind numbing with all the math involved. Ive seen a few misinterpretations. Who was this vet?

Re: Speed and cav attacks

Well since higher speed gets the first attack maybe thats what was meant by the whole "damage" thing, but no, speed only affects map speed, movement (how far) on battlefield, and who hits first
