No they need to put ur username in a referal box when they register

The easiest way to do this is get a friends ipod and make an account and add your name in the referal.
I didnt do this until i was lvl 13 on s1 so it really isnt a big deal. It is probably going to be your last task besides lvling

Note that the person you have refer you must play the game and upgrade their General Title task AND claim the task rewards for you to get the bonus.
Simply typing in your name will not get you bonuses.
