Trap/turret location matter?

I'm a newbie, sry I did a search and couldn't find any info about this.

Does it matter where you build traps/turrets in the city wall? What I mean is, when I click city wall I see a matrix of 3 rows & 5 columns. Where do I put my trap(s)? Do I need to put traps in certain rows/columns for them to get tripped? Or does it even matter?

Also I see that there's a BIG difference between trap lv 1 & lv 2. Trap lv 1 has only 200 attack but is really cheap to make. Trap lv 2 is 2000 attack, but is kinda expensive on the resources...is it worth it?

Thx

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

Don't ever get turrets till level 9 or 10 they areprettu much useless due to catapults outranging them. As to order I say traps first 2 rows then turrets in back so if the use cav or Inf. That u hit them 3-5 turns with turrets

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

In answer to your question, it matters not where they are placed.... As long as they are in range, turrets will attack the closest unit, and traps mist be cleared by a unit reaching their row.

When you look at your city wall grid while building traps/turrets, it's important to remember that the bottom row will be nearest to the enemy.

Eventually you will want to create all lv10 turrets for power. Everything short of them is a waste of resources and money IMHO, because they easily get cleared without doing much damage to the enemy. You can make a case for high level traps, but why spend the money for lv10 traps when you could spend the money for lv 10 turrets?
Another thing I like to tell my generals to do is create 1 trap on each city wall row... This ensures that every battle will be at least 2 minutes long, and with training, and timing, you can have an alliance mate ambush the enemies troops as they return home. I'm not gonna get in to tactics here, though.

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

The row at the bottom of the screen when viewing your wall is also at the bottom of the screen in a battle, thus the bottom row is furthest from the enemy. I've tested this many times.

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

I would Get All traps or all turrets. AS balla said dont bother with turrets till your turret tech is lvl 9 or 10 (preferably 10) All traps work pretty well when they have only cats cause then they cant get prestige if they kill you. Since cats would never go into traps

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

I was curious about this too :)

I have seen two answers to the question, both contradicting eachother. Can anyone get the final word on this? ;)

Which rows are first approached by the enemy? The bottom row or the upper row, when looking at the grid. Thanks in advance :)

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

If you don't believe me, try it yourself. Place one trap in the top row and then one turret at the bottom row and have someone attack you. You'll see that the way they are laid out on the wall screen is the same as the battle screen.

Sorry for the misinformation....I haven't checked this thread since I posted.

Majoria is correct. What I meant to say is that the bottom row is furthest from the enemy lines...sorry! I'll try and be more mindful of what I post in the future!

Re: Trap/turret location matter?

The bottom row is the bottom of ur defenses. But if i were you i wouldnt mix them it doesnt work out that well. (My opinions from what i see when people attack me)

Hello everyone!

As far as I have seen in a battle a few days ago, traps are extremely effective against cats. 1 Lvl. 3 trap killed 64 cats of my enemy...
