Hail the awesome logos! [Added 2nd logo]

Here's my logo for Haypi
Please suggest how I can improve it, I really want to win because it would be amazing for me to win!

ETA: Another logo! This one's so hot, it's on FIRE! Literally!

I don't think the white text really stands out enough.
Looking good so far though.

Well, I'm not saying mine's better, but you can choose to have the flames behind the text instead of the front.

Use some effects on the font, such as gradient, overlay or something else rather than smudging the text.

Otherwise, it's good enough. Maybe use a stroke around the picture so you get some kind of a border.

Constructive critisism, that's what we learn from, isn't it?

Heres the thing: The first logo- can you imagine a red block as the logo? I would feather the edges a ton, or use the eraser and erase the edges to soften them a lot. It just wouldnt work, having a block as the logo. Nice though.

Thanks for all the advice and critiscism. I'm fairly new to photoshop, so I don't know how to do much :S I'm actually taking Digital Arts class in school soon, so I wish this comp had come later!
So... how do I add gradients to text? I don't really get feathering edges, either, but I'm going to use the eraser on the flame on now.
