You cant talk in world chat unless you speak English?

i have when some guy was calling me rude words in Spanish thinking i wouldn't go translate it.

I've never muted for non English speaking chat. I just put it through a translator to make sure they aren't spamming or breaking other rules.

All I'm trying to say is why download an English game if you don't want to speak English, and make a big deal about it and make our jobs harder?

That's a valid point, but people shouldn't get muted for practicing their french with two others on world chat...

Well it is fun when the chat's slow, and there is another italian, and you can mess with others by talking about milk.

Haypi is a worldwide community that is open to all people. It was developed in English to be open to the most people (English is the most common language in the world).

It was not developed in English so people could use that as an excuse to say "this is an exclusive English club and if you don't like it go away." It hurts me so much when I hear people say, "If you don't want to talk like me, get out of here!"

It especially hurts when experts and mods say things like:

Do you really think that by being themselves and making friends in their own languages people are out to get you?

Perhaps I have misunderstood you. Your comments seem so harsh. Am I right that basically what you are saying is this:

If I am not comfortable chatting in English, then, out of sensitivity to you, I need to stay out of the Haypi community. By downloading the game and trying to participate in another language, I'm being a jerk and ignoring your needs?

no she is telling you straight to your face. Haypi is in English if you can't chat in English u can't play Haypi. if u can't rea anything... which means people should atop causing drama::)

Obviously, people just want to start stuff.

First we have to make a clear distinction between having a conversation in a different language, and just spamming the same nonsense over and over in a foreign language. And as far as I know, the latter is against the rules even in English.

Personally I love languages, and so I enjoy being able to practice different languages with native speakers. But I also encourage those people to use the chat to help with their English as well. I firmly believe that I should be able to communicate with everyone in English, due to the nature of the game.

And most of the time is it pretty easy to tell whether someone is using a foreign language genuinely, or maliciously.
