Some Haypi basics for new players :)

Here are some basics about haypi:
(this was originally an alliance letter so it mentions "Patricks letter" a few times- that was a letter with some info he sent out before I wrote this. I'll post that later.
SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES: 
You will earn general points every time you upgrade your general title. You want to use these on hidden attack and speed to max them out as soon as possible. They are the two most important stats. 

UNITS:
infantry (inf) basic footmen. Good to have a couple thousand for raiding forts and other players. 
Cavalry (cav) (horses): the fastest unit. I recommend you don't train any until you have max speed and can support about 10k of them at a time. It's a good idea to train like 3 so you can use them to scout other players with if your scouting skill is low. (attack them with one cav and the war report will let you see their troops and traps)
Archers: useless to new players, but deadly if you're a vet and know and have the necessary stats and commanding skills to use them. But this guide is for new players, so I won't get into that.
catapults (cats): the strongest unit. Used most in battle as they can kill the enemy before they can even get close enough to attack. Cats + max shooting and attack techs = win. 

HUNTING: hunt 8-12 hours with as many troops as possible. There is a lot of controversy about hunting. Some believe it is best to hunt on lvl 9 iron and stone oases, and some believe level and type don't matter. I personally don't know the facts for sure so I won't say much on that. I Do know that it is best to hunt areas that aren't often hunted by you or other players so try to hunt far away from other people and never hunt the same area twice. Never hunt infantry/cav with cats/archers. Send inf/cavs to hunt in one area and send cats/archers to hunt in a separate area. You won't get decent income from hunts until you have about 2k inf or cavs. Catapults and archers are slow, therefore not very good hunters anyway. 

Oases: you can occupy one oasis every odd numbered level. (1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19) so the max number of oases you can possibly have (at level 20) is 10. oases give you more resource income per hour. To occupy one, go to the map, tap and oasis, tap enter, and tap occupy. Make sure you have the troops necessary to win agains the oasis though! The number troops needed to win against the corresponding level oasis is listed in the letter Patrick sent out. Once you occupy an oasis, its level will decrease by one every day. No- there is no way to prevent that. Once it hits zero, you will lose the oasis and have to occupy a new one. Every day an oasis goes unoccupied, it gains three levels. 

Fortified points (forts): you can occupy one fort every three levels  (4,7,10,13,16, and 19) so the maximum number of forts you can possibly have (at lv 20) is 6. forts give you hourly gold income. The amount earned is (level of fort) x 20.  You are better off simply farming forts (attacking multiple times) for their resources than occupying them, as they really don't give much gold at all. Forts won't come into play for you until later on, as you need a minimum of 200 cats to win against a lvl 1. The number of troops needed to win against a fort is also listed in patrick's letter. 

Other players: once your beginners protection is up, you will be able to attack (and be attacked by) other players. When you attack, you will be up against their army AND any traps or turrets they may have. To win the battle you must kill ALL of their troops and destroy all traps and turrets.  When battling, it is best to command all your troops to wait and have your cats destroy the troops before they even get close enough to attack. 
If you win the battle, you will steal some of that players resources, and if you killed more of their troops than they killed yours, you will also steal some of their prestige. If you are raiding a players resources, be sure to send plenty of inf to carry the resources for you. 
If you are attacked, it is usually because you either have a lot of resources or troops in your city. Ooor you just pissed someone off in world chat :p to prevent being attacked, keep your troops out hunting AT ALL TIMES when you aren't using them. Troops in your city means free prestige to players with bigger armies. Massive amounts of resources is also targeting because well.. It's free resources! Doesn't get much better than that! So if you're going to be offline for a while, pit all of your resources in the market for max price so they'll be there when you need them again and no one can take them. Of you're being attacked already though, you won't be able to sell resources so you'll have to upgrade as much as possible in your city to use them up. Remember- if people get no prestige and no resources for attacking you, they'll get tired of wasting their time and stop attacking :)

VIP: VIP gives you an extra upgrade, actions, and attack slot along with no more annoying 15 second chat rule. It is very useful and I recommend using your coins on it. 

Prestige: prestige is like... Exp. You need to earn it to level up. For some levels you'll need treasures along with prestige. You WILL lose the treasures when you use them to level up. There is a list of prestige and treasures needed for each level in Patricks letter. 

Commonly used terms: 
Wc: world chat
Ac: alliance chat
Pm: private message
Farm: attack repeatedly to steal resources
Lock: attack a person with one catapult from far away to prevent them from using the market for the amount of time it takes the cat to get there.
