i cant find a way to make the layer over the killjoy symbol transparent,
heres what i got SO FAR:

Close but I don't think I'd have the Killjoy symbol go past the border. When I said from top to bottom I meant from the bottom edge of the border to the top edge.

Once you have that duplicate the fractal background and place it over top of the Killjoy symbol. From there I believe you go to Adjustements but I may be wrong. You may be able to right click the layer and go to Blending Properties. Regardless of how you do it you need to make the fractal copy over the symbol opaque so you can see it but you can see through it and see the Killjoy clearly.

K I figured it out,
So make the fractal image I got from planetrendrrs.com in front of the killjoy layer and the make it transparent? I'm at 50% opacity, higher or lower?..

I'd have to see it.

Make sure the fractal is covering the whole medal. Honestly I like the solid Killjoy with the faded fractal but you should probably just make both to see which is better as a finished product :P

Go with the first but your Spartans should have a drop shadow in my opinion and the border should be closer in color to the fractal color.
