Towers Outranging my Cats?

I hit a level 8 fort today. My cats seem to hit the first and second row of the towers without any problem, but for the third row, there is apparently 1 turn that they hit my cats without my cats actually hitting them back, and I just end up getting them on the next turn.

How is this happening? I have level 8 shooting. I thought that towers don't outrange cats until level 9-10... and even if they did, how am I not having any problems with the first and second row?

Are the turrests different on the first two rows? That could be the explanation for not getting hit by the 1st two.now the one bout them hittin u,that could be bc if u attack a lvl 8 fort and u have lvl8 shooting,the forts towers just might be lvl 8.or 9.
Just a thought.personally,this Isn't something to worry to much abt.losing a few cats to forts never hurt anyone.

Yeah it's not a HUGE deal, after 2 or 3 times that this happened, I learned to throw infantry in front of cats when I go for the last row, I just wanted to know why it's happening.

All the traps + turrets of a fort are always the same level as the fort itself, and yes I checked, every time this happened the last row was level just like the other 2 rows.

Another odd thing that happened to me that never happened before I got to level 8 forts is.... Every time I make make cats hold position, and on the first turn I fire at the cavs in the fort because they're the only thing that comes in range. Well, with level 8 forts yesterday, the cavs would come forward, but the first turn would not be enough for them to come in range on the first turn. Today I am hitting the same forts without the traps/turrets and they are again coming in range on the first turn. I thought maybe the field was bigger for level 8 forts for some reason? That's the only explanation I can come up with since the other explanations would be that my shooting is getting worse or the cav's speed is getting worse

A lvl 8 for will have lvl 8 traps and turrets, and lvl 8 shooting. Just as with going for a lvl 10 fort with 10 tech in shooting, you get outranged for a turn, just save up for the upgrades in tech, youll need them anyways.

I have lvl 8 tech shooting. Cats + lvl 8 tech shooting outrange lvl 8 towers with lvl 8 shooting.

they could have been level 9 turrets?

Just checked the war report again, lvl 8.

They're magic turrets, duh.

Maybe take ss of the war report, and post.
That would be a lot more helpful than trying to figure out what you did by guessing.
