Archers

Should archers have more range that catapults?

It will bring archers a proper role on the battlefield.

uranos i agree we should be able to have mountains and things like that...
we should be able to customize the battle field

make a hill and hide1k archers behind it and they attack everything but they cant be killed until cavs or infantry go behing the hill and attack stuff like that would make this game more fun

2 flaming arrows could set a catapult on fire and could reduce it's power/range for around 2-3 turns n completely burn down on turn #4
(ok maybe more than 2 flaming arrows.. but still ^^)

I think that the archers should just do better damage because arrows back i'n the day could pierce light armor so maybe u should add i'n an effectiveness against certain classes it could go a little something like this


Archers do 2 times the normal damage to infantry
Infantry does 1.5 times damage against archers and catapults
Horses do 2 times damage against archers
Cats don't do any extra damage

Has anyone contemplated how much programming would be needed to insert some of these ideas?

Even if they were plausable, how complicated would it be to add it to the program? I think we need to find a good answer that doesn't take the programmers years to develop.

Fey, they dont just see a idea and just "BAM!!!" there gonna put it in there. There has to be alot of thinking invovled to see whether this is even a good idea, can help them, and make not just one person happy.

I do agree though, archers need a buff >.>

i have about 3k archers and 500 cats... i put the archers forward one turn and cats two turns forward... i lose about 70 archers fighting a lvl 3 fort and about 200 archers fighting a lvl 4 fort and nothing else... without those archers i would losee most of my inf cavs and cats... you just need to expirement with archers to find a way to use them... they can die off cause u can make lots of the like infantry, but unlike infantry they do have some range to them so they are a big help

i think they would be fine, if their attack power was alot higher.... but then cats would have to be higher also.

well.... archers are powerful n can wipe cats if u use them right way.... with max attack they can wipe 0,14 cats per round the cats kill 1,2*2=2.4 per round
the left archers (2,6 in our case kill all other cats etc.....)
