Thanks for the clarification. But how does stealing sub cities relate to getting past level 15 and having to spend coins? I guess you guys spend a lot on coins to keep going in the game. Is that what I have to look forward to?

Depends... You can use coins to move up in the ranks quickly and that is what most in the top 20 have done. Coins aren't necessary to be a powerful player but it is needed if you want to be on the top

Re: A Haypi Review: Significant Flaws....

Eh the devs have to make money somehow. To be honest, level has only a modest correlation with how strong you are. I have seen level 10 guys w/ only 100 cats, and some w/ 2000 cats- and cats are where the real power lies.

I have more of an issue w/ the battle system and general shallowness of the game. I have been inactive for about a week now after realizing that the game was just taking up too much time and wasn't really enjoyable anymore. The game has potential, so I am still lurking around on the boards, hoping that some changes will be made that make this an enjoyable game again.

Although you stayed a bit too centric on the sole topic of the game's flaws, this is a solid review for skeptics. Sadly, it might be a review that discourages players whom already have doubts of the game rather than give them that little push to stick around for a bit longer.

I would have liked a bit more of a possitive disambiguation in addition to the flaw descriptions in order to really have a complete review in the end.

Re: A Haypi Review: Significant Flaws....

Hey Rednessa, I just wanted to address a few of your points. First let me say that I am currently at lvl 15 on server 3 (very very close to being lvl 16) which puts me almost in the top 100 (I was ranked 102 last night) and I have not yet spent any money on buying coins (sorry devs, I might soon though). So I'm not in the top 20 or anything, but I'm a decently high ranked player.

As for your money issues. Yes it is rather challenging to acquire significant amounts of money in the game with forts only giving 20 per level and the market being so low (at least on server 3 where I play, highest prices are only 0.03). Now a while back I would have agreed that something needed to be done to make it easier and faster to get money, but now, I would no longer agree. I have worked hard in the game to make money (again, never using coins) and I am now at a point where all of my techs (except traps, but who cares about those anymore) are at level 10. Also, through no use of coins, I have all highest level treasure except for only a level 13 armor currently (but that should change soon). Also, as far as level up treasure is concerned, I have always been able to purchase the needed treasure before I had enough prestige to level up (and yes, I already have my 3 scepters ready and waiting for my upgrade to lvl 16). All that to say that you don't "have" to use coins to be successful in the game. Sure they help and make it faster, but they aren't necessary. Now I'm actually kind of glad it took so long to acquire enough money to be where I am, because once you get everything totally leveled up (techs and treasures) there isn't a lot to spend money on anymore (except to help out my alliance now). But if everyone could level up techs and have highest level treasures at a low level without the use of coins, then what would be the benefit of being at a higher level? I don't think you should be able to have max techs too soon. Then it would be too easy.

As for your crop concerns, yes it is a pain to feed troops, but you don't actually need tens of thousands of troops to be successful in the game. Yes GoldenRico will disagree (*pops collar*), but you only need that many troops to fight the extreme top players....so don't fight them. All of my sub cities have lvl 15 crops and I have lvl 10 crop tech and with that I easily sustain 1000 cats and about 1500 infantry at each city. This is enough to attack anyone that leaves out troops 99% of the time. Yes very rarely someone leaves out more, or in war I will consolidate my troops together, but at the end of the day I can again disperse them and everyone stays well fed. The point is, you only need tens of thousands of troops to fight the most extreme players and yes to take the highest level forts, but lets face it, even with the market down at 0.03 its still faster to make money selling crops then occupying a lvl 10 fort.

So I do agree with you that these areas can be frustrations and annoyances, but I don't feel they are significant flaws in the game design overall. If you could get money faster you would complain that everything can be upgraded too fast and now you have no use for your millions of money. If you could sustain tens of thousands of troops without using coins, then the coin users could sustain hundreds of thousands and nothing will have changed except higher numbers.
