Archers

Should archers have more range that catapults?

That seems plausible.. it would make sense with how archers work..

But really, Archers just need a boost in general. They're far too useless as it stands and I don't know if a 5% boost every 1000 archers will cover it lol.

While archers appear useless, I believe it is largely due to the fact that cats are so overpowered. Most battles are decided between which army has the most cats and best range. Syl made a comment that cats are like a shotgun...perhaps that would be a good idea. Dropping their attack and allowing cats to hit multiple groups (inf and cats) at the same time might even things out. This would encourage the use of other troops other than an army of cats.

I have an army of cav. Very easy to wipe cats out if thats all that is focused

I suppose it depends on the number of cavs vs cats. Enough inf or archers can do the same as long as you have the numbers.

Either way...giving units a "special ability" may help give another dynamic to battle.

archers are already much faster than cats....and they only take 2 crops so they ae like the noob version of cats

A lot less health but probably the same attack(or closer to the same attack) as an infantry would be nice, id use them a lot more, i know some ppl i have wiped out cuz they had several thousand archers and nothing else but their archers did NOTHING to me

I was informed early in the game that with lv10 shooting tech and the right amount of archers, that they can be extremely effective.

Is this true? I haven't tried it as of yet. But seeing with the price difference between cats and arcs, that the same amount of arcs for the same amount of cats, plus the shooting tech, could be quite useful.

Why isn't anyone posting anything about the health of archers? If archers had double health with the same attack they would be much more effective. You may not be able to take on an army of cats, but you would be able to wipe out the opposing enemy's swords and cavs. This way you could send in your own army against the cavs and finish them off.

i think archers jst need like a defense/attack boost if their range go over cats then if someone had like 10k of them and can reach the front line without moving then they wld be beast XD
