Haypi, how I've missed thee

I'm sure a few of you noticed that I seemingly dropped off the face of the virtual earth and here's why;

In the last few weeks I've seen my best mate rushed to hospital, had to baby-sit a VERY active little girl for a week while juggling work and school trips, have had my car broken into (losing my iPhone, my laptop, license plates, purse, Navman, saddlery/tack - just to name a few), and an injured horse!
Naturally, without my iPhone and notebook, I haven't been able to access haypi or emails etc.
I am back at work after my mini-trip and am able to access the forum and emails for several hours a day but haven't yet had my iPhone replaced to access haypi.
Sorry if my random unexplained disappearance worried anyone.
I should have a replacement phone and laptop in the near future, though.

Hey to all in S5!

Too bad you didn't have the find location thing turned on on your iPhone, it has shown you on Pal and I could've found the guy who jacked your stuff xD

Re: Haypi, how I've missed thee

Thanks Ronk, Reddywoos :)

Damn Vayne that would have been all too sweet!
I think my notebook was logged onto pal at the time though :S

It's hilarious now that it's all said and done. It wasn't at the time! I was on the way back to the car right after my mount had cut his leg open. Thank pineapples they didn't raid the first-aid stuff from the float as well.

I think I would have rampaged and completely lost my mind after that.
Sure teaches you how much you rely on technology though. The hours driving home were absolute hell with nothing but myself, the silence and a very grizzly horse in the float!

Re: Haypi, how I've missed thee

That sounds terrible o.O

I'd be lost without my technology... It's sad really but it's true. I grew up with it and I don't really know any different except for the 6 months in military school. The physical part of that wasn't the worst, it was not having TV, Phone or anything for 6 months x.x

Did you have warranty on the notebook and things?

Re: Haypi, how I've missed thee

It makes you feel like a speck on the Earth, huh? But when we have technology on our side, we're larger than life haha.

The notebook was in dire need of being replaced anyway. Inspiron 6100 that I got when they were brand new! Can't get much more outdated than that. I guess this just sped up the process of getting a new one.
I'm more concerned about the data, photos and private information... it's kind of scary to think what they have access to!

I've reported it all stolen so hopefully they'll try to hock it and it'll all come back but that's probably unlikely.
Had insurance on most of the other stuff.
Been so busy trying to get replacement licenses, bank cards etc that I haven't really followed up on the rest yet

Re: Haypi, how I've missed thee

Be sure to go around and change passwords pretty much... Everywhere. Especially if you had it so it saved your password if it went to places. All it takes is going through your history to find websites you visited that you may still be logged into. Changing your password will fix that.

Photo's and things... Not much you can do about that >.< From what I've seen though people like that just erase everything photo wise because they don't benefit the person at all unless they're a creeper >.>

Sorry that's probably not helping lol...

Horrible....just horrible. I wouldn't see any reason to steal that laptop....jk >.< but I believe it's a good reason to have mobile me as you can remotely deactivate your things. I can't believe (actually I can very easily) how low some people will sink...
Cutting somebody off from technology is just asking for them to revert to a savage staight and go on a rampage....least technology keeps me civilized...

Re: Haypi, how I've missed thee

Yeah I've been working on that most of the week.
My iPhone is locked and no passwords saved so hopefully they didn't bother even trying to crack the code for that.

Creepers eh? *shudder*
