Like and dislikes, changes needed.

Sorry in advance, this turned out to be longer than I was expecting.

After playing for a couple weeks now, here are some of my thoughts on the game so far. (Feel free to chime in on these topics)
Overall, I like the game, but… It NEEDS a lot of work to make it playable for both the people who have coins and the people who don’t.

Likes
There is a LOT more to do in this game than there is in HK. More things to upgrade, more aspects to gear, etc..

I like the aspect of having lots of heros that can offer different things. This really makes it so not all players are the same.

I like the buffs an alliance can give you. The only drawback I see to this alliance system is that it makes it so once an alliance gets established, no new alliance can compete with them.

I like the ability to make your own gear and not relying on a drop.

I like not needing coins to call back an attack.

I like the way each city is independent from the others.

I like how you don’t starve and lose troops when you run out of crop. The only problem with this is see happening is what happens when you starve, don’t have a crop oasis, and have no coins or silver? (Your stuck at that point)

I like the map interface, but would like some tweaks (see other post)


Dislikes – Things that NEED to be looked at before the game rolls out.
Almost NO protection from other players. NONE, except War Refuse, which is a horrible way to have to protect yourself. There needs to be better protection offered that doesn’t require players to spend coins. Need to bring back crannies, and they need to protect enough resources to allow the player to build things they need, like upgrade warehouse, repair wall, etc..

Players have unlimited hits on other players. This is leading to stronger players farming weaker players to the point that weaker player cannot play without going into War refuse. Again, forcing people to buy coins to protect things they worked for. Need to offer weaker players a way to protect themselves better and limit the amount a player can attack specific players (HK had a 5 hit limit, this game does not)

Coins, as posted in another topic, need to have a way to earn them in the game. And I’m not talking about 5 coins for leveling, etc.. Need to have a way to earn enough coins to make the game playable for the people that simply don’t buy coins. Even though Haypi makes no money off people not buying coins, the game still needs those players. See my other post for suggestions.

Timers… Endless timers… Waiting on things to either get there or finish upgrading… Makes things boring and to always use speedups will burn through coins way too fast since it costs a LOT of coins to finish things that have 3 and 4 day timers on them.

Farming… Endless farming… When your timer finally finishes and it’s time to start the next upgrade, it’s endless farming to get the resources needed for the next upgrade. Need to reduce the resources needed on the higher level stuff. Great example, lev 16-17 crop upgrade requires 128,640 wood, 149,995 Stone, 128,640 iron, 65655 crop, and 39,200 gems to raise it’s capacity from 13600 to 15300 and make an additional 170 crop per hour. It’s simply NOT worth the investment.
The higher level university skills are also equally as insane. It shouldn’t take several hours of farming for 1 upgrade.

Over use of crop. – Why do we need to spend 70K crop to hit something 10 minutes away? Why does my wall require crop to repair it? Why not stone since it’s made of stone? Why do Hoplites require more crop than wood or stone? It’s simply used WAY too much. Need to cut back the crop requirements. If someone didn’t have coins, and had a large army, they would not be able to attack anything.

Over use of coins – Too many things cost way too many coins. It seems that if you want anything in the game, you need coins. I didn’t see any coins come up in the daily lotto, and I only got a VERY small amount of coins in the game other than the 150 allowance for the beta. I posted another topic about this. Please read and comment there.

War Refuse – It seems to be the answer to everything in this game. Right now, almost ALL top players in the game are in War Refuse. It’s not that they don’t want to play, it’s just that they don’t want to risk losing their stuff. War Refuse is also over-used in the game. People steal a sub or oasis off another player, then go into War Refuse so the other player has no recourse. Then they can pop back out, steal something else, and go back in. If you have money, and can afford to waste coins, this may seem like fun, but it’s aggravating to the other players and it makes the game no fun when you can sink your time/effort/money into something, only for it to be stolen by someone else and also have no way of getting it back. Telling people to use War refuse to protect their stuff because of a lack of any other protections is not a great idea and needs to be re-thought. Need hit limits between players, attacks that can’t stack and land within seconds of each other, better attack notifications, etc…

After dailies are done...
Then what? Not much to do after you completed all the dailies and used all your energy. You could farm, but, it just gets stolen if your not in War Refuse.
Need more activities that players can do if they finish all the daily stuff. Maybe allow them to keep hitting the levels in the battle ground, just no points if they have no energy.... Need Something... It's like a whole aspect of the game is missing.
