It's depend on the stage...
But from 13-15 baha'll be of great help since almost all of monster there are ghost and weather is night sometimes...

DD exp 2 (one of the hardest stage) : sun (locked), no fire, behe, planto, boss phoenix
Used ress martyr schyte, pod levy, pod baha, barrier faery

DD exp 3 : sun, dual duel, no fire, phoenix, mino, set, Boss cerb
Used baha, baha, levy, set

DD exp 4 : sand (locked), no item, set phoenix, sphiperx, mino
Used set, levy, sphierx, baha

DD exp 5 : sand, no water and earth, dual duel, mino mino cerb set
Used sphierx, malicious faerivy, baha, baha or pega pega (forgot)

If we synthesize planto using the scroll,

can we still use 1m silver to buy it in Encylopedia

to ensure we can get a breeding pair?

Yes u can, i synth planto scroll and then bought its pair from encyclopedia with 1 million silver...
