Item Prices

Can someone who has a little time please write out a price range for items and their levels

I'm a little lost on how our world can jump so much, and please don't say supply and demand haha

A forum post should be like a skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Re: Item Prices

It depends because on most servers wood is .4-.6/100 and stone is usually .1-.3/100 and iron is .3-.5/100 and crop is .1-.3 so it is supply and demand.

Re: Item Prices

supply and demand IS the basis for ALL pricing in games and in real life...when you want something sold...don't you want to sell it at the highest price that someone is willing to buy? and if you want to buy something, don't you want to make sure you buy it at the lowest possible price?...if not...i'll sell you any resource at .50/100...

The only things not affected by supply and demand is the price cap on high and low...you can't sell it for less than NPC price and you can't sell it for TOO much either...so...maybe remove the high price cap? because even SUPPLY and DEMAND could take it well beyond the price cap...

but also...because of this...there are secret tips and tricks that can always exploit this supply and demand...with all these high levels "Dumping" their products like, China importing numerous things below cost into USA so USA had to put a stop to it via tax/limitations...of which THAT is done...so...secretly...what could it be to use this supply and demand to your advantage?...well i'll tell you...but it will then be reported into bugs...because it really shouldn't be used...so...go look for it there in the report a bug section...^^

Re: Item Prices

I thought I responded to this yesterday, but maybe I never hit submit. Prices are going to fall until people buy as much as they sell. Currently, the easiest way by far to make money is to sell resources. I don't know about you guys, but hunts, daily gifts, and forts combined make me significantly less money on a daily basis than selling resources do. On top of that, selling resources is a lot more predictable- I control how much money I make doing that, whereas getting zilch on a hunt after tying up 300+ units for 12 hours is frustrating and happens often.

Another way to look at this situation is that the demand for money far outstrips the demand for resources. One way to tip the balance is to remove oasis from the map, or fill the servers up more so more people are fighting for the same number of oasis, which increases the demand for resources. Another way is to increase the money production from hunts, increase the hourly rate of money from forts, or to some extent increase the daily gifts.

You could also implement an "NPC Price" for crops, but in my opinion, trying to control the price by tweaking the number and/or level of oasis is a much more interesting way to do it. Putting a price floor in will just make the game too mechanical. I do think the resource prices should be a bit higher than they are now as well. It seemed like when they were in the teens, the game seemed less tedious.

It doesn't appear to me that everyone plays smart either. It seems that all oasis are hunted equally, but really you should be going after lumber and iron, selling that, and then buying stone and crops when needed. Also realize that there is a huge price difference between 2 cents and 3 cents... 50% in fact! So when I see someone undercutting the 3 cent price with a large lot of 2 cent crops, I will buy the 2 cent crops and resell them at 3 cents, or just keep them- 2 cents is too damn cheap to pass up! This strategy is profitable until you hit 9 cents- anything above that, and the 10% transaction cost will eat up your gains. These markets could be pretty easily gamed as well, but until I successfully test that, I will keep that idea to myself :) I could talk about this for hours, I work in trading, so its more than just a passing interest.

Re: Item Prices

It will tell you the price range when you look at available resources to sell.

Re: Item Prices

Basically people are charging what they think people will pay - the majority of people are selling stuff for .03 right now (except for stone which is almost always at .01 lately) with some people selling a little lower if they cant wait for it to go and need instant money

Its been a little wierd on the scepter, medal and gems lately as more people need those to level up so the pricing goes up - while things like nuggets are pretty cheap becuase no one wants them.

I never did understand why people are selling items like chests for more than you can get in them - like level 3 chests for 15000 when 12000 money is the max payout though, but w/e
