Curse on Levi

Just got my Levi and am leveling him up but he is too young for any actual battles yet. But I'm curious about some not traditional builds (rain, water bombs, torrent, PoD). I'm aiming to get Invalidate on him talent-wise.

I've noticed some people are having good results with fatties like Champ and Curse. I'm thinking pairing my Levi with a Clawpard in 2v2 to cast Blizzard and using Curse with Soak and the high dodge chance to outlast but never really used Curse and don't want to waste my time if its just going to get me killed. Maybe finishing the build with Water bombs, Foresight and Windblast (if I Windblast out a monster and they bring back in a cursed monster they lose 25% without fighting back).

Re: Curse on Levi

Fort II or water therapy would be better for the curse strategy imo. Levi will lose 143 hp from curse and gain back 40 every turn from water therapy. Of course that would require having rain prayer or a rain partner but it's like having 1/3 of soak every single turn, combine that with actually using soak and he'll be a super tank. And fort II would help you tank for obvious reasons.

Also a thought just occurred to me, when using blizzard there's no notification that your dodge rate increases, so it's impossible to know if invalidate will cancel out the dodge buff. Inval stops sewage from increasing dodge rate so it might work the same for blizzard.

Re: Curse on Levi

@Schwag
The Talent Invalidate says:
When your monster is in combat, the increase/decrease of stats will become ineffective on all monsters. If the description is correct (for once), this would mean Blizzard would not decrease the dodge rate.

@Ryeballs, I'd definitely go for Force-II to make him even a greater tank.
Most people will expect you to use Rain Prayer and switch to a Lightning monster. Use this to your advantage and 1hit it with a PoD(?) Clawpard.
Finally back on track and ready to help you guys :D!

Re: Curse on Levi

I didn't think it would decrease the dodge rate, just stop it from increasing when blizzard comes up, since it stops sewage from increasing dodge rate.

You mean Fort-II? That is my long term plan, but its a hard one to get so I like interim plans. Water Therapy helps for more monsters though, but Electric is very proliferate. I guess once its at a decent level to bring it out to play Ill see how it handles itself and decide from there.

Also if Sewage triggers Inval then I'm sure Blizzard does too and Inval is a heck of an effect, even if I don't take it I am tempted to put Fog on everything I can.

And maybe Water Therapy with Rain and an Earth partner to help with the Electric Monsters. Or possibly use my Penetrate Hippo, with Windblast and Curse as well, as the partner to get their entire team Cursed/Windblasted around so they can't get any footing.

Re: Curse on Levi

Yea, Fortitude-II, sorry about that.
And Hippogon would definitely be a nice pick, I would go for Boulder, Fire Blast, Curse and Windblast/Soak/Photosynthesis.

Re: Curse on Levi

Invalidate does not work on weather. Rock monsters will still have dodge rate increase in sandstorm. So im guessing its same for blizzard

Re: Curse on Levi

There are much better talents than invalidate , i would go for fort-ll since it fits perfectly with soak it will be a great tank , even when fighting a plant / electric monster it can probably still win or at least deal a massive damage before dying

Re: Curse on Levi

Yes but it might be a month before I can get Fort II, it being the Epic talent it is, I want an interim plan.

Re: Curse on Levi

Longer than a month. U need prem. runes and the talent system sucks. Not worth it really. Spent 5 prem runes to get 3x invalidate and 2x thorn. I dont use pod at all so invalidate is fine for me.
