PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

Hi guys!

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE POSTING A COMMENT!

Firstly, I am very happy that the new version is here so quickly! I was literally just thinking of when it will be released so I was ecstatic to find out it will be available soon.
I am fairly happy with everything apart from one - the PvP Weekly rewards!

I understand that some players may not be able to purchase coins and this MAY be a good way to get those but I don't think this has been properly given the right thought process. Think about this: most people who have 2 devices to play with will be able to afford buying gold coins, therefore, you're just making the rich (in gold coins) even richer!

We all know that there was a massive uproar regarding the PvP Championships a few months ago about abusing PvP using 2 devices. However, I tried my best to comfort those aggravated that Haypi will not allow this to happen later on as this might have only been a slight oversight before they released the event and we learned to accept it (mostly).
I am very much appalled that Haypi has decided to make this a regular event now and even reward 100 gold coins for the top player in the PvP realm of the game.

I am not at all opposed to rewarding the top players for their hard work in PvP but rewarding them with 100 gold coins is way too much. This needs to be reduced or change to something else.

Most likely, only one player will dominate the PvP room every week with multiple devices. There's usually always one person in every server who seems to top everyone else when it comes to PvP. Some may argue that getting to those 2800+ or even 3000+ points take time but these people need to understand that someone who only has 1 device will take as long as this, but more likely longer, to achieve a much lower score - say 2400. It is not fair.

I don't think it's fair that this PvP 'abuse' is started again.
(I am very wary that I am using the word 'abuse' here as I don't think I used that before but because of this event, this will most likely be the term everyone will use.)

There needs to be a change! I know it didn't come out yet and there might be a slight oversight but it needs to be tackled now so it is sorted as soon as possible.
The rewards need to be reduced and changed to something else - like Ultimate Rune Gems.

If the difference between this and what the normal players get (or strive to get) is not substantial, there should be no problems.

As someone replied with, the rewards shouldn't be removed completely but just altered as they are too many at the moment. Rewards will encourage a more active PvP room so it's a good idea but it just needs to be modified.

A great suggestion is by CrimsonHarv:
CrimsonHarv wrote:Easy fix would be to give top 8 spots 20 coins. Those who use multiple devices will benefit. Those that don't will benefit. The player who dominates PvP will get the same reward as those below that player spreading the wealth, but not just giving it to one player.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on how this will be fairer to everyone?

P.S.: I'm sorry that you had to read such a long post. I tried to tackle the arguments I can remember but I am sure I missed something so I will be editing this as I remember more debates everyone had regarding this issue.
Thank you for reading!

Re: PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

Honestly don't think it's that big of a deal.

The amount of time u have to put in to get 8 usd worth of coins.

Better to work minimum wage for an hour. Then grind pvp for 20

Some don't even work - or are not permitted to!

I guess you're right to some point but 100 gold coins is too many.
I might have acted rashly when I posted this but I am sure that I am not the only who thinks like this.
Some players will strive to be the top of the ladder but will not be able to do so, even if they play 24/7 due to not having another device to play with and get to those ludicrous amounts of PvP points.

Also, getting to these points won't take that long. I am sure that it won't require you to play for more than a couple of hours to even get to just 2500. After that, it will take longer but certainly not long enough to even raise this point, in my opinion.

100 is too many for one player and judging from the way they award rewards, the next place will receive half of this.
Basically, this one player will get 400 gold coins in a month. I think I've spent less than that since I played. I bought coins but if you average it out, it won't top 100 a week.
I would say halving this would work. 50 gold coins doesn't seem as many.

I support you fully, Lex,

This reward is too much. It only encourages people to abuse pvp to an extend that pvp is not fun for anyone else who only has one device.
And people feel sick thinking about pvp, because they know people who don't play fair get all the reward in the world, people who play fair don't get anything.

Last time, the pvp championship, for merely three advanced skillbooks, sme people reached a score of 4100. Their pet account has a score of 200.
Can you imagine what it takes to lower one's score from 1500 to 200?
That's what people would do for three skill books.
And this is 100 gold coins, imagine what people would do that kind of reward

Re: PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

It's relative to what someone else int is. So if the top guy has 3300 you will need more than that to get the coins.

2500 during normal times and 2500 during the pvp event was much longer to get.

The last pvp event I got one abc. And the time it took me to get it wasn't really worth it. I'm sure a lot of the players remember most ppl didn't even go for the 3 abc because the time it took.

On my server maybe 3 ppl went for #1 and each person spent at least 40 hours that week

Re: PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

I do not need 100 coins and it's not my problem that will win.

The problem is that many many players will do this and (yes there are people who have nothing else to do) and so my problem is that there will not be any fun to play in PvP !

Really disappointed because this will remove a fun and competitive part of the game.

Re: PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

I think good rewards actually might encourage real pvp.

The dual device method really requires no one to be pvping to work.
If you dual device and a real player pops in to pvp and you lose. You will lose a ton a points. Right now this is allowed to happen because no one pvps. And no one pvps because the rewards aren't worth it.

If you made pvp rewards worth while enough that encourage more ppl to pvp than people will not be able to use the dual device to farm int as real players will be constantly popping up and destroyer the cheaters int.

Re: PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

Thank you, Pizy.

Yes, there's just no way for anyone who doesn't have 2 accounts to get to those heights. It is virtually impossible.

superfly, you need to put yourself in the shoes of someone who doesn't have 2 devices and can't spend 8$ or so a week that you suggested they spend to cover this.
For a FEW servers, it might take a lot to be at the top. However, for most of the servers, you don't need to be as high as this as only one person, usually, will be at the top. I'm sure that during the PvP Championship, it was clear that there is one that has dominated. Again, there might be an odd 1, 2 or 3 servers where there's a lot of competition but the rest don't have as many.

By your logic, those who know that they can't be at the top should be spending money to get 100 gold coins. That's just not possible.

That's what they want, most people who have two devices spent a lot money on the game too, because they are so into the game, they'd go trough the trouble to play two
Speaking about players on my server
, their main accounts are so strong, with jelly, almost never lose.

Re: PvP Weekly Rewards - Too Much?

I mean ask yourself. Why do you not actively pvp now?

I bet a lot of people will say because the rewards are not great. Some will say the don't like pvp and only like pve.

If rewards are great more people will pvps. If pvp was active 24/7 on servers there is no way the cheaters can farm int with 2 devices
