Exhaust (Hypnosis) + Dream Thief Combo

Curious to hear people's views on whether Exhaust (Hypnosis) + Dream Thief combo move set would be better on Vertedeath (with Hynosis Jinx) or Meniss (with Hypnosis Jinx).

Re: Exhaust (Hypnosis) + Dream Thief Combo

Dream Thief is considered a heal and will not be cast in ladder from my vertedeath's experience. Also, if you have PoD it will can it most of the time, but not all of the time. It will use Cunning every time even if other skills would be more effective.

Vertdeath being a stronger overall monster I'd say it would work better on him.

Re: Exhaust (Hypnosis) + Dream Thief Combo

I don't find this combo reliable at all.
Dream Thief is a good skill but 90 power and needing to rely on a Hypnosis, which has an awful accuracy, just does not cut it for me.
I've never touched my Dream Thief skill books (apart from 1 time) because of this reason. I feel that though this may be used sometimes, there are other moves that will be more useful and more reliable for a larger number of situations.

This is just my opinion, though. Some people have been reaping rewards from this combo, I hear.

I have seen it work effectively in PVP. I had one guy kill all 4 of my monsters with this move set using one monster, but he did get lucky with exhaust (hypnosis) hitting every time.

Yeah, I'd like to see counters to this strategy such as items that make you immune to sleep or specific skills.

Built this last night. Named my verta sandman.
What a waste, hypno procs so little and exhaust misses all the time.

+1

You have to be pretty lucky for this to work as effectively as others have encountered it. In general, this is a very unreliable set, in my opinion.

A 90 damage Ghost skill is still a 90 damage Ghost skill.

Its going on my Meniss as soon as I get it.
