Expert 5-2

If you take the first right (2 spaces) and the next right (3spaces) it leads to portal and an epic cave. However I've tested it twice and each time I land on the proper square for the 2nd right turn it doesn't direct my character down that path. Instead I continue straight ahead, Is this a bug?
