reversing cats

in the last update has it been chnged from every troop moves and then attacks, to cav move attacl.... etc..

today i lost 16k cats whilst reversing and my cats didnt even attemot to move in war report

Support87 - please remember to post your findings here so that the players will know the resolution to the issue and if it is a new game change like the changes to oases countdown timer. Thanks.

thanksss..
it ruined a big pp hit oppurtunity (200k+0 luckily i killed all his other troops first or would have lost 200k+
so if it ends up being a bug i have ss if you need do i get them back ;)
i dont care if happens or not just would to know if getting changed back
since cavs will now be unstoppable with their new speed

No, backtracking cats works. I know because I just fell prey to it, based off this topic. I ended up losing all but 3k because he was able to reverse for several rounds.

It is possible you only THOUGHT you reversed cats. As they were apparently wiped, we can't say for sure.

I agree that this command tactic has changed and have already posted about the change once or twice on forums. Here is evidence that clearly shows the cats WERE in reverse because not all of them were killed so their movement is still shown.

I know I'm a bit late on this, but reversing cats won't *always* work, and I don't believe it was ever a 100% guaranteed tactic. It depends on the distance between the attacking unit and the reversing cats, as well as the speeds of the two units. Since those numbers are rarely known, though, it's still safe to say that reversing will work "most" of the time.

The way it used to work was that all troops moved and then all troops attacked. So say you have cats and they have moved up 175 each round so they are at 350. On round 3 you reverse your cats and the opponent moves forward his cav (let's assume 1260 field length and max speed both sides). Previously the cav would have moved all the way to where the cav were standing as they are the first movement. This places them at 350 on the command screen right by the cats. Next the cats reverse 175. Then the attacks begin. Since cav are at 350 and cats are at 175 (a difference of 175) the cavalry cannot reach the cats (their range is 48 with max shooting tech). This is why cavalry could not hit retreating cats. As seen in multiple screen shots--now what is happening is that troops move THEN attack before the next troop. So cavalry move forward and kill cats. Next, (if there are any cats still living) they will back up and make their own attack.

It definitely was a 100% thing. Now, I haven't quite figured out how and when it is working. Though this is definitely what I have seen and think to be true.
