Upgradable Soldiers
Basic: Infantry
Stats: As they are right now
Tier One Upgrade(Swordsman):
Stats: +2 to all stats except crop consumption
Cost to Upgrade: The cost to upgrade would be equivalent to a quarter of a soldier
Tier Two Upgrade(Specialist):
Stats: +5 to all stats except crop consumption
Cost to upgrade: The cost of half a soldier
Tier Three Upgrade(Unnamed):
Stats: +10 to all stats(except range) and +1 to crop consumption
Cost to upgrade: The cost of three quarters of a regular soldier
Tier Four Upgrade(Unnamed):
Stats: +20 to all stats(except range and except crop consumption)
Cost to upgrade: The cost of 80% of a standard infantry
Tier Five Upgrade(Knight)
Stats: +40 to all stats(except range) and +2 to crop consumption
Cost to upgrade: The cost of a basic infantryman
So overall a Knight would have:
Life: 227
Attack: 152
Defense: 152
Range: 32
Speed: 227
Crop Consumption: 4
As you can see just from above this is a very basic idea I came up with. It still needs a lot of work(Ideas for the other 3 soldier types) and names for 2 of the above classes. If you could suggest things for the missing parts of my idea i will update my main suggestion according to the best things I see in the comments.
