Tokens in Laputa battles (may contain SPOILERS)

I finally got the last map piece and have been playing the Laputa levels. I noticed the new tokens on the battle screen, but am not entirely sure what they do. The Haypi tutorial page has not been updated since the game was released, so there is no description of them there, and surprisingly no mention on the forums either.

I am reasonably sure that the green shield enhances your defense, and the green sword enhances your attack. But what about the purple shield, sword, and star coins? Are they more enhanced or are they a penalty?

The skulls appear to enhance the attack of all of your enemies. There is also some sort of metallic looking star-shaped token (for example at the bottom of the screen in H-11). I have hit it before, but can't tell what it does.

To answer ALL of YOUR QUESTIONS follow these few simple steps:
1: Open Haypi Dragons
2: Hit START
3: Select NOVICE
4: Tap the upper right hand corner of your screen (the settings)
5: Then select the HELP option
6: READ and everything I mean everything is explained there including the next update (v1.4) features!

thanks. I have been looking for the help button in this game forever. The settings menu is not a terribly intuitive place to put it. In Haypi Kingdom there is a "HELP" button on the main screen.
