Alliance armies are pretty straight forward since there are no attributes or skill points. Basically your alliance will need to build as many cats as it can. Dont spend time building infantry, cavalry, or archers, Catapults are the only unit that are effective in alliance wars right now.

Actually that depends, cats are not the only effective troop in alli mines. We take a lvl 5 mine and lose 1 inf, and even if you did have a full army of cats, it would be worth training 1 inf 1 cav and 1 arch as blockers.
