Nathan05 wrote:lol rico you are fighting a losing battle here... give it up.. the people want to see second chances for people who got banned at least to either reaffirm that it is correct they should be banned or to reinstate them to full game play. you cant deny that this is a bad thing to allow a second chance after you have recieved so many second chances and warnings from support yourself so dont act all holier than though cos everyone makes mistakes. and if people dont deserve a secondd chance then resign your title and leave the game yourself.

Big Difference between a second chance from a chat ban than to someone that glitches/hacks the game. Read better so that you don't appear foolish ;)

Re: Restoring the Haypi Community

This while thread is ridiculous. If you cheat, curse repeatedly or commit any other offense against the terms of service WE ALL AGREED TO, then you shouldn't be surprised to be banned for it. It is unfair for those who cheat to expect a warning when you offered no such warning to the developers or your fellow gamers that you intended to cheat them.

I have been banned for cheating. I was contacted by tracy in august of 2010 who informed me I was suspected of cheating and was given the opportunity to prove I didn't by sending them my iTunes receipts for the 1 million coins I let someone hack onto my account. Even though I sent her receipts totaling almost $1000US, it wasn't enough to warrant a pardon. I took my medicine like a man and I've never expected anything in return, even though I was extremely bitter for a long time.

I consider it a blessing that I have been allowed to play on another account for the last 14 or 15 months, and I have gone out of my way to prove to support that I am now an upstanding contributor to their community, rather than complain and cause trouble. The result? A great gaming experience for me and all those who play with me.
Do I suck up to support? Never once in my life, but I respect the fact that I was caught breaking the rules and I try hard to not do it again in the future.

The simple fact is, if you commit the crime, you gotta pay the time. It sucks, but it could be worse. Just offing my two bits....

Well said. Your statement shows maturity and the ability to not be biased despite what happened.

Hopefully some of the younger posters that are commenting can learn from your ability to formulate arguements/opinions instead of spewing what comes from emotions

Guys it is simple.... Follow the rules to avoid getting in trouble. If you can't handle the time, Don't do the crime. Once again I agree with second chances from chat bans but for cheating you should be given the ultimate form of punishment with no recourse

First, I'd like to ask you to show evidence that the posters are as "young" as you say they are, and please explain why you are claiming you are absolutely right because your opposition is this debate is "younger" players.

And note here that Taem was given a second chance... if he had been permanently banned, he wouldn't still be around to talk about it.

I too applaud your ability, Taem, to calmly address your mistake, but I won't call it "maturity;" what is completely mature is to not cheat in the first place, however, see what an honest and reformed (not to mention quite amiable and friendly) player was created due to being given a second chance; and compare that to any player (who spent a lot of money on coins) and his/her attitude after having not been offered such an option.

Re: Restoring the Haypi Community

You are right, Arythy, I did capitalize on my second chance, but the truth is, that chance was not necessarily afforded me by support. I was lucky to have a brother who just bought an iPhone and he made me my new account.

It was with much trepidation and secrecy that I played as taem96 for the first few months, due to a legitimate fear of support finding out who taem really was. It wasn't until I was confident that my actions were speaking louder than my words that I gave taem a public image, and either support looked the other way, or didn't notice that I was still playing their game. To this day, I have heard nary a word from support on the issue, so I wouodnt be too quick to assume they'd be willing to give everyone a second chance, nor is it their obligation to.

It is my opinion that the second chance depends on you and you alone (you being the unlucky soul who was banned), and what you make with the opportunity.

In all, I know of many, many people who have been banned and still play and enjoy the game, so it is definitely something that can happen. My point is, don't use your second chance to cause problems or complain about injustices as the fact that you are able to use a second account to do those things is proof enough that support is open to amnesty. Rather, use your new account to be a better player, and help others to become better as well. These are things that everyone, including support I'm sure, appreciates.

Re: Restoring the Haypi Community

Arythy as you can see the second chance was not given by support so your point was made invalid.

While I applaud Taem for his change and will even pat my own back since I was at one point chat banned, I have to admit that the chances that people change for the better are far in between. From what I have seen maybe 1 of the 10 people chat banned don't jump on alts to continue to cause trouble. Then you have the wannabe HaypiHacks hackers who even when account banned continue to cause trouble.

Knowing that your account will be perma banned for cheating should be a deterrent for players to glitch or cheat. I will stick to my OPINION (please comprehend we are both discussing our opinion on a rule that has been made by support and has never faltered) that if a player was to cheat they should be banned and never be allowed back on that account again as punishment. I think players who lack the decency to respect their fellow players by following the rules deserve to have their account PRIVILIEGES (they are given the priviliege to play it isnt their right) taken away permanently

I fully understand that this is a matter of opinion. ;P

And I agree with you, it is not a player's right to have a second chance or something of the like; the rules clearly state "NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY HEREIN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OWNERSHIP OR OTHER PROPERTY INTEREST IN THE ACCOUNT AND THAT THE ACCOUNT IS UNDER THE SOLE OWNERSHIP OF THE COMPANY...THE COMPANY MAY, IN ITS SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION, SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE ACCOUNTS, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU;" however what I am arguing is that it would be more desirable for cheating players, non-cheating players, server-wide (and smaller) communities, and the community as a whole to give second chances. Please simply take my arguments into account and consider them with an open mind; you don't have to agree with them, I would simply request that you see my reasoning.
