Re: Please Fix Move City

Some requests aren't very practical. Numerous people requested move city, so it was given. And they are constantly working on new updates. Don't blame Vayne for defending the devs

Re: Please Fix Move City

bedgeller as a newer player on the forums i think its important to know ur role. Vayne has and is doing a great job. Now although there may be a problem in some peoples eyes with this city movement it was first brought up by the players. It is both unfair and unwise to blame vayne for this, i think your better off going back to college (law school if my judgement serves me right) and not worrying about this game. You look like a somewhat intelligant person which is hard to come by in this world, so please respect the fact that its the admins and mods game and they do do alot for us. it is impossible for them to do everything that we wish but heck, i think theyve done a very good job.

Sorry for the long post and anoying speach,

Re: Please Fix Move City

well, i agree to the point that moving a city to a nearby enemy to attack is somewhat odd and imbalance. It is good for the higher level to do, it but it is bad for the lower level and the beginners. It will be more like the food of chain theory, where the higher animal prey on the lower animal. Again, i don't think it is a balance to the game, and it should be protected. YEAH!!!! PROTECTED !!!! :D :D :D

Re: Please Fix Move City

The move-city thing should be modified. Definitly. Once, one of the most active player in my alluance nearly quit because a city of a lvl 18 appeared beside him and he was totally farmed...

Move city isn't fun. I had a 14 move next to me to farm me, then an 18 showed up to farm the 14. All in the cycle of city moving.

Re: Please Fix Move City

Every game change has unintended consequences. No one is blaming the developers for fulfilling this request. I've used move city for strategic reasons.

However, the current iteration has created an imbalance. Server 3 found a low-cost solution, however, it's not permanent.

Easiest fixes would include adding a time element as mentioned or forbidding a city with troops in it to be moved.

The current solution isn't fair for either party. I'm sure Gurex wants to play his game too, he's simply taking advantage of a design fault. Take that fault away & I'm sure he's capable of finding other ways to excel with or without his coins.

I'll post a related suggestion about using forts to mitigate this problem. I assume Gurex & others do this because of the map size & travel time to fresh oppoenents.

Re: Please Fix Move City

Besides my response to Vayne was not an attack on em, but rather pointing out that I would prefer an answer to the complaint about moving forts that addresses the concerns that have been raised. Additionally no one has yet to explain why this is the only action that does not take time to implement.

Telling me not to respectfully disagree on a forum is essentially telling me that the forum has no place for discussion.

Re: Please Fix Move City

I believe the original intent of being able to move cities was to relocate in a more desirable location, not magically transport troops for a surprise attack. I think some modification of the current city-moving format is in order. Maybe moving a city could impose a "forbid war" restriction.

Re: Please Fix Move City

I suggested the time limit to moving cities a couple days after the feature came into being, devs said they would consider it and I have not heard anything more about it in the couple months since that time. The feature of the move city function was indeed demanded by the public, but that is all, Vayne is saying that the public demanded this feature which is not entirely true. People did ask for a move city function, however it was the admins decision to make it instantaneous and with little restrictions. From what I have seen of the game all features are pretty much logical and can be seen as practical in the natural world. I do feel however that the instantaneous move city function takes the game into a "magical" stage. I believe the game should choose to stay in either pretty much completely mundane- or move entirely into the "magical" realm, being stuch imbetween creates too much controversy and problems.

Re: Please Fix Move City

To argue the other side though, there is precedent for things happening instantaneously. Speeding up your upgrades with coins for instance.
