The way I see it only 14% think the update was good...
32% think the update was a good idea, but there are too many bugs....
And 54% think the update was bad coupled with too many bugs
Considering nobody that actually plays the game goes on this forum to put in their two cents they just wind up quitting, 54% negative is a very very large number.
+100 now THAT is a good point
at the time of my post, 54% of the vote is only some 30 odd people. compared to the hundreds of thousands of players in this game, i dont think thats a very large number at all. nor do i think anyone has actually had enough time to fully play test the update yet to give an accurate assessment of whether it makes the game better.
i for one think the new ranking system has great potential to be a more definitive representation of an alliances strength and power than the old system. all too often i see alliance leaders recruiting prestige to bloat their alliances total prestige regardless of whether or not the player is even active or not. while alliances like this may have been ranked highly, they are in truth not nearly as powerful as the alliance with 50 active members.
i have also been waiting a long time for the developers to add a true reason for alliances to actually exist, other than ac. sure you can act in concert to intimidate people, take cities, wage war etc, but all this was kinda fake and a money trap in the old game....especially because anyone can refuse war at any time. even a number one alliance could have 50 members on war refuse, and still rake several million prestige per day very easily, while never running into the danger of losing it. what right would an alliance like one of these i mentioned have to claim to be the top alliance in a pvp game? a game where the ultimate object is to destroy enemy troops? after all, this isnt farmville... the idea is not really to be a war refusing fort farmer, even though it is a completely viable strategy that has always been available to us.
whats really funny is the clamor over this new alliance ranking system. have you no desire to see your own general rise in rank? im sure when you first played the game that was surely your goal...when did that change for you? what kind of warlord would cherish selflessness so? what kind of warlord would not have the personal ambition and drive to be the best conqueror he could be? i find it hard to believe this update could cause you to give up all worldly desires and be a slave for your alliance any more than you already were.
you want to stop building your army? fine. ill come take your cities and well see how easy it is for you to donate to your alliance now.
also, alliance wars would be a good thing for pvp competitions i think, because of the fact that a reward of gold coins is recieved for being a member of one of the top alliances. this expansion will actually make it a justifiable alliance reward rather than the top generals banding together for the sake of free coins. a new edge. new strategies.
sorry, but after all these months, its refreshing to be able to develop new strategies for this game, just when i had already exhausted just about every avenue.
so thanks haypi....even though it took a year or more, you have finally implemented one of the most suggested suggestions to this game. (see suggestions threads and you may be shocked how many people have clamored for these additions over the months).
