The only remaining question that I have is: How does defense figure into the equation? I see that you purely compare attack versus life. Does defense do nothing? Thanks.

when troops are battling it is defense + life. this means with an attack of 100 and a defense+ life of 100 it would take one of the unit to kill another one of this unit. this is why infantary do not have a killing rate of 1:1

The amount of prestige gained from building troops and upgrading buildings and resources decreases as you level up, so if i put the presrige gained from 19-20 resources for a level 17, it'd be a different gain at say, level 10
