No chance to grow, senseless efforts

Hi everybody,

that's my first post here and may be my last.

I play the game since a few weeks now. My actual level is 6.

After that 1 week of protection period it's like fair game. At least every second day you are "visited" by a player that is 5, 6 levels higher than you, he kills all your troops, get his prestige and you start again from the bottom.

Today there had been the "highlight". After 36 hours of re-building up troops I had 365 Inf. / 58 Cav. / 24 Arch. / 53 Catas again; nearly no more building level up in this time. And within a few minutes where I couldn't be online all was gone:

Infantry: 3.043 vs. 345
Cav: 0 vs. 58
Archers: 1.408 vs. 24
Catas: 1.453 vs. 53

I lost all my troops, the attacker didn't lost a single one.

The attacker got 1.175 prestige, I lost 1.175 prestige.

Sorry guys, I really can loose and I don't want to cry. But something like this is absolutely pointless and senseless. Why does somebody, who has a dozen more levels (in this early phase of the game) than his opponent and 30 or 40 times as much troops gets 1.175 prestige? Such a campaign is neither brave nor risky.

I think you should think about that because I see the risk for the game that someday there will be 10 or 15% active player but many many others who start with the game and experience the same will loose the will or the fun if they see no real advance.

An easy way not to lose troops or prestige is to hunt them, whether your online or not, And then harvest the hunt when you need the troops.

Never, and I mean never, leave troops in your city. if you goto sleep, send them to hunt an oasis. if you goto the shops, send them to hunt an oasis. Hell, even if your actively playing, sent them out anyway. I've gathered it doesn't matter what level a player is, they will always attack you if you give them reason to. and believe me, leaving troops in your city is reason enough for anyone!

Even if you have just recalled your troops from a hunt, send them out immediately again. It sounds like your located right next to high level player which is, quite frankly, unlucky.

Just as the above said, hunting is the key to survival. It may not help your growth, however you won't be knocked back in prestige either. It takes some time getting use to the mechanics of the game so just stick with it and you'll become better. Growing is a bit of a pain as everyone has realized they need to hunt their troops, which in turn means there is rarely anyone left to fight.

... the strategy with hunting I didn't realize with my "german english knowledge" till now... okay, so I'll try again and do my very best

Anyway it's a bit schizophrenic to have a city, an army and the key to success is to have the army outside of the city ...

Hunting is the biggest strategy of the game once you get it down the game is great. Now remember to hunt your troops.
