Am I missing something...

I sent my troops hunting on 27 March (1000 inf, 100 cavs, and 1100 cats). I had at least 200k crops while producing 8k per hour. On 30 March, I received "Lost City Troops' report that showed that I lost 323 inf, 35 cavs, and 358 cats because there was not enough crop in the city. I was attacked the following day and lost all remaining troops and 7k of prestige as a result.

How could that happened? I believe that I had sufficient amount of crops... Your advice is greatly appreciated.

What was your crop consumption : was it +8k an hour?

Also, were you attacked at any time before you starved?

If you had oasis that lost levels during the time your troops were hunting it could have caused your troops to starve

I was attacked twice by another member; however, he only attacked me with one soldier...

In addition, as far as I remember (I cannot access this war report), the player that attacked me when my troops were in the city got a few thousands of crops as well...

Well perhaps the player that attacked you stole your oasis and put you in negative crop?

Well, If he did make you starve, your troops are returned to your city and 30% starve and die. When he attacked your city, he wiped out the remaining troops, and his troops brought back some of your resources. This is probably what happened.
