The Prestige Wizard(Haypi Article Competition)

Haypi Kingdom is a game that is all about prestige. Many of us strive to reach the monumental title of King, but the title appears to be miles away. Some beginners abandon their cities, concluding that it is impossible to gain such substantial amounts of prestige. Others find themselves bombarded with attacks that lead to massive prestige losses. If you are one of these people, read on and you will not regret it.

Building Prestige

First, we will take a look at all the possible ways of gaining prestige. Perhaps the most elementary way of gaining prestige is by upgrading your city. Note that you will have to experiment to find an upgrading pattern that utilizes the time and resources most efficiently. Regardless, it may be a good idea to begin by upgrading your buildings evenly.

Prestige can also be gained by completing tasks. From the start, you will find that various tasks can give you bursts of prestige. During your beginner protection period, attacking other people is not an option. Because of this, you should use this time to complete as many tasks as possible. There is also one specific task that is arguably the most important task on the list. This is the one that allows you to upgrade your general title. Be sure to take advantage of this task whenever you reach the prestige requirement.

So, you now have a decent supply of resources, but what is a kingdom without an army? Well, your kingdom is really not worth much because it cannot defend or attack others. So, as soon as you find it possible, start constructing a sizable army. As a general rule, the crop consumption of a troop will tell you how much prestige you will get per troop that you build. However, catapults are an exception, because they consume ten crops an hour and you only gain eight prestige. Despite this fact, you should not put aside building catapults, because they are the most powerful troop available in the Kingdom.

Building troops will gain allot of prestige, but you will soon find that you can only have so many troops with your current crop production. This problem can be solved easily by sending your troops on a suicide mission to take over an oasis. In most cases, you would lose prestige from such a venture, but for whatever reason, you cannot lose prestige when attacking an oasis. After your troops have died, you can rebuild them again and gain even more prestige. On the other hand, you may prefer to upgrade your crops over losing your hard earned troops. None the less, this is something to take note of.

After you have managed to scrape up a sizable army, attacking other people becomes the last option for gaining prestige. To get started, do some scouting and find a foe who has fewer troops then you. Next, divide and conquer. I can not begin to tell you how many strategies there are for winning a battle, but whatever you do, always command your troops during a battle. Your army is not as intelligent as you might think. Only you know the best way to approach the enemy.

Avoiding Heartache

Unfortunately, gaining prestige is useless when every time you turn around somebody attacks you and steals your prestige. Thankfully, there is a way to avoid substantial loss and also gain a small amount of prestige in the process. The solution is simple; send your troops hunting. By doing this, the city is almost worthless to an attacker, because he or she cannot gain prestige by destroying your troops.

Your troops are momentarily safe while they are hunting, but if your crop production drops into the negative, and the amount of crops you have reaches zero, your troops will begin to starve. As a result, they will be forced to returned to the city. This is a tempting situation for prestige greedy players. So, to avoid this situation, you should always make sure and keep your crop production in the positive. Do this by never making more troops then your city can support and by upgrading your crop building. Also, it is a good idea to avoid using crop oases because people can steal your oases and cause your crop production to drop. However, there may come a time when you find it necessary to use oases and negative crop production in order to support a larger army. If this time comes, always be sure to store enough crops to support your army. But when this happens, remember that it is always risky to be in the negative.

Despite this fact, some people will still attack you in hopes of stealing your resources. How do you avoid this? Well, I suggest that you play hide and seek. Your cranny building can hide a small amount of your resources, and the rest can be hidden in the market for a ridiculously high price. Once in the market, no one can reach your resources unless they are willing to pay a price that would benefit you and not them.

With your questions answered, I now return to a virtual world where battles wage on like tornadoes; and where catastrophes both strengthen and destroy men and women. It is a world where many are appointed dukes and earls, but only one person can be number one. So, may the force be with you, and may the best person be appointed King over all Haypi citizens.
