The Story of BraveBarb (event article)

I am no spring chicken! So why am I in the land of Haypi Kingdom?
I was invited. That's right, invited by someone who is my friend and found the Haypi Kingdom first. My friend needed Prestige Points and one way to get these points is to invite someone else to play the game. She did not get the points immediately. No, she had to wait until I had risen to the third level. So I had to learn something about this game. I had to put effort into this game with minimum help because the server she was on was full. She was also a tad busy to "babysit" me just to get her 1000 points. The things one will do for a friend? Go figure!
One night I thought I would look at World Chat (WC). In my mind, I knew most of the players would be teenagers. For the most part I was correct; however, the range was far broader then I had expected. I found our server in the land of Haypi Kingdom had very intelligent 9 year old authors (yes, more than one published author at 9 years old, not even in the same country), many men and women in their twenties, some middle aged men and women, and some like me of the older crowd.
There were several evenings I simply read the WC. It was a source of information (beyond the quick guide and the Forium). Players with Expert beside their name answered questions regarding how to find information to play the game. This was in-between chatting. There were endless Ads for alliances. Each alliance stated what level a player had to be in order to join. By reading WC, I could see the land of Haypi Kingdom could be a fun place to visit frequently.
One night a bunch of roudy teenage boys decided to forget most of the English language and stick to a few choice words. I decided I was not learning anything new so I challenged them to getting their message across in a more intelligent mannor. They did ok with that but the subjects were still sports, loose girls and fast cars. So I asked If anyone knew about a topic in Astronomy (I tied it to anti environmentalism, which as a movement is a scam). Some did. Wow, an educated chat.
One guy asked me to Private Chat (PM). He wanted to invite me to join his alliance. He thought I would fit his alliance. He explained the benefits of the alliance to be a source of information and social interaction. By this time, I was 2 months into playing this game. I had surpassed the level required for my friend to receive her Prestige Points. I joined his alliance knowing little more then stated. My hope was to meet more people like him. This was not to be in my first alliance. The leader and vice leaders had promises of information. These promises were not filled. The person who had invited me became frustrated and began to talk to members of other alliances. However, I met one vice leader who did interact with me. He was frustrated. He had goals which he indicated did not seem to be of the concern of the leader or other vice leaders. He was trying to grow and make the alliance healthy. One Sunday he quit. I had done my invitations and two nice people joined. Meanwhile, after the vice leader quit, my invitor quit and joined another alliance. He wanted me to come over to his new alliance. I discussed this with the two I had invited. Neither of them had received the promised information. We three really did not see the benefit of being in an alliance at this point. My former invitor's new alliance changed. We three decided to join the changed alliance of my original invitor.
It was at this point I learned an alliance does provide information, vice leaders take time to teach a member how to command in war. There was just one problem. The new leader of this alliance was invited to a more powerful alliance and our server would soon be merging. So again, my alliance dissolved. What to do? The one had just lost his new position  as a vice leader without any consultation. Myself and the other two know we are not good at fighting and there are those who are mean. They attack to get your resources. We had only reached level 11. Attacks began happening just about the time our leader was in the process of thinking about leaving. Meanwhile, I had made acquaintances with the former leader and she had sent a member of an established alliance on our server to talk with me. I arranged for the other three to join this alliance with me. Now we are gaining information. We have our subculture and enjoy each other's notes. I have also gone back to my friend in town and took lessons on how to command. The leader of this third alliance has obtained a guide to the kingdom and has sharred it with his members.
My subculture and I are not yet ready for war, we are builders. We are getting there. After becoming fairly well at war we can begin to think of PvP competition. There are real prizes to be won in this Kingdom. I could use an I Pad (top prize) or coins. That would be sweet. There are other competitions as well. For example, this one: what is your story?
The summary of my story is I wanted to help a friend and along the way, I am learning to manage resources and meet others across the world. :)
Our next challenge in this land of Haypi Kingdom is the merger.
