Infantry VS Cavalry for Hunting?

What does everyone choose to hunt with and why?

I'm currently hunting with about 40k inf and i'm debating whether it would be better to switch to 10k cav so i could use them for fights too.

Thoughts?

I prefer hunting with infantry, Cause they're just easier to make.

Re: Infantry VS Cavalry for Hunting?

I prefer Inf.

While support claims that the speed of the hunting unit plays a part in the harvest equation (making Cav the better unit), I find that my Cav almost never harvest treasure, only money....Inf on the other hand, are constantly harvesting treasure.

Re: Infantry VS Cavalry for Hunting?

well lets think about the basic stats
1xcav- speed 300, overload 100 crop consumption-4
4xinf- speed 150 overload 320 crop consumption 4

as we can see the inf has triple the carrying power but the cav only have double the speed of inf therefore making inf better

Re: Infantry VS Cavalry for Hunting?

I concur wholeheartedly with your sentiments Nate, but in the online tutorial, it is clearly stated that speed of a unit (not cumulative) and not the overload plays a role in determining harvest results.

Overload would (I imagine) dictate the size of the harvest, but there is no clear evidence to support this. as we all know hunt results can vary greatly and I have often time hunted large harvests with less troops, leading to the assumption that overload may not ply a big a role as one may think.

This is classic Uranos right here....

You heard it here first! For every scepter your Cav hunt, your Inf could have hunted 1,413 more!!

Infantry are easiest, and quickest way, and also give the better hunts overrall unless your a hardcore coin buyer. In that case pump out cavilry.
