Abuse

Through out the forums, abuse is almost always what shoots down a decent suggestion. "That would be too easily abused, so Haypi won't do it." comments like that. Do you think there could be ways to avoid abuse and/or punish the abusers?

For the sake of discussion, let's use private trading as an example. A lot of people want it, but it hasn't been put in place due to the abuse factor. What do you think?

Re: Abuse

anytime there is a chance for people to cheat in game, even if they can be caught, the idea will not be implemented, as haypi doesnt really want to deal with having to catch people, and they dont really want people to cheat them.

and i dont blame them, do you?

Re: Abuse

I think that there are currently things in the game that are already abused, and that haypi will probably do nothing more to change those areas. Using market as storage, using alt accts to feed a main, are a couple of examples. So I personally think that there isn't that much harm in introducing aspects to the game that can be abused as long as the benefits outweigh the cons by a healthy amount. But I really doubt that haypi would agree with me. lol

Re: Abuse

1) market to store resource, isnt abuse, its allowed, and is a strategy of the game. thats why you only get 10 slots to store/sell stuff.

2) alt accounts arent supposed to be had anyway, and feeding is against the rules. alt accounts on the same server are rare, and when they happen, are usually hacked. ive had a couple times, when i got lucky, but i never feed.

3) deliberately setting themselves up for people to cheat them, isnt smart. why not avoid it if it is clear, and avoidable?

4) those instances you are mentioning have been around for a while. as for the alts, it was discovered after haypi was in circulation, that it could be abused. so, after version 1.5, you could no longer make alts with the same device. then they changed it again, and made it so that your referral wasnt on the same server as you.

point is, they have bugs to fix because of their original mistakes. why would they repeat making big mistakes like they did before.

Re: Abuse

It's just frustrating some of the things that aren't allowed because of fear of abuse. I have friends that tried Haypi but stopped playing because they were put on a different server.

By the way, alts are not against the rules. Using alts to avoid mutes is against the rules, and more than 1 account per device is against the rules; but if I have more than 1 device, and I don't abuse my alt, it's perfectly legal.

Re: Abuse

I think it is better to allow the abuse of the few, if it will provided greater benefit to the many. The referral thing is a perfect example. You refer your friends in hopes that you can play with them everyday, but because a few have abused alt accts, it is no longer possible. I understand the choice by haypi, but I do not agree that it was the best one.

sorry but if you let a few abuse the system then more and more are going to do it as they know they can get away with it.
