Chapter 1: Resources
Resources are an important part of every successful players kingdom. You need them to grow, attack, defend, and trade. I will review each resource and its uses to you as a player.
Wood:
Wood is commonly used in upgrading for more resources and later in catapults, the striking force in every kingdoms army. Wood is extremely cheap (at least in my server) and can be obtained for .01 per.
Stone:
Stone is also used heavily in upgrading resource production buildings. This was the first resource that ran dry for me in my early stages. So the best advice is to get a good flow of this coming in. Also extremely cheap (.01 per on my server) so if you have money, it is easily obtainable through the marketplace.
Iron:
This is a very well rounded resource. Good for upgrading while you are new. But even the most experienced players use it for turrets, the favored defense for a town. This one ranges form .02 to .03 per at the marketplace.
Crop:
This resource is mostly for people who crave war. As although it is used in upgrading, it is not used as heavily as the others. But all troops use this a lot. When i say this i do not mean to create them. They will reduce the amount of crop produced. Should the value become negative and your supplies run out troops will be destroyed until you again have a non-negative production.
Chapter 2: Social
Haypi Kingdom, being a MMO has a large social aspect deeply woven into the game.
Alliances:
Alliances make up most of the social part of Haypi Kingdom. As in them you can get some of your best (in-game) friends, along with some of your worst enemies. When looking for a clan, make sure they have active strong players able to defend in a war, along with an active clan chat for communication between players. I will now tell you a story about how i joined Mensa, one of the best alliances in the game:
It all started with a player named Gahlex. His main was near mine and he was way stronger than i was. He sent a huge army my way trying to raid me. I fired off a PM pleading for him to not attack. He used coins to call back his troops and invited me to join is alliance. Even though i was rather weak at the time. Mensa was awesome we have many of the servers best players were members. I eventually faded into inactivity and when i had returned the alliance was no more. (im sure it still exists but under a different name :P ) Word of advice: a strong alliance will help you become a better player. Make friends, and soon you will be climbing your way up the leader-boards
Chat:
Chat is a huge communication hub for each server. Although it doesnt have different "rooms" it does not tend to be too crowded. There are 3 chat sections: Global, Alliance, and Private. Global is home to the VIPS and experts. One of the advantages of being a VIP (member) is no 15 second chat restriction, so many active chatters are VIPS. Experts can be considered the "mods" of the game, being very experianced and active, along with having the ability to temperarly ban people who misuse chat and abuse their privleges.
Map:
Lastly for this chapter, get to know you neighbors, if they are not farming you, they often will help you out! PM all neighbors asking for a peace treaty, this will keep you friendly with everyone so that you have more allies should something go wrong.
Chapter 3: Trade and The Valuable Oasis
The MarketPlace:
The MarketPlace is the main way to rid yourself of excess resources. It's the main way to receive in-game money. (Except for forts, which will be discussed later). In my server, resources are very cheap, but I'm not sure if this applies to others. But if you have a full warehouse you can sell resources for money, which you can own an infinite amount, this means you have a way to safely safeguard your materials
.
The Oasis:
Soon even a capped city will not produce resources fast enough. This is where the oasis comes in. If you capture one, you will receive more of one kind of resource per hour, depending on the kind of oasis captured.
Ok since I don't want my articles for the competition to be too long: Will be continued in part 2
