My 48 hour impression

After playing basically solid for 48 hours here is my opinion about the game and some of its feature along with how I think they could be improved :D

Interface and connection:
The game looks really clean and nice. Graphics are good and I'm impressed with how good the different monsters look. Props. I do wish there was an option to play in normal orientation not just landscape. It is impossible to play in landscape mode and be mobile which is how I play my haypi games (and why I play them for that matter). I can't hold my phone and play while walking around and getting stuff done which I find quite annoying.

Chat:
I am unsure how long you must wait in between posts but I will guess it is 15 seconds like HK. If this is the case it would be nice that if you type a message and send it too soon it doesn't delete what you wrote but save it so you can resend after ample time has passed. While trying to answer questions on chat I often have to type my answers twice which is a bit obnoxious when you are trying to answer like 6 people asking questions. Also, I wish VIP allowed you to chat freely and not erase your message. Finally, I wish there was a "done" in the lower right to send message. But this is just an interface thing because I am used to HK and I will get over it soon.

PVP:
I really loved the PVP at first. I played with a great friend in 2v2 and we had fun winning and losing both. As we leveled up in game and PVP though we started only getting 2 points for a win which made it much less fun (no reward). It is also very obnoxious how a person can leave the PVP match and you're stuck playing for 20 minutes because they won't command their troops. They should be put on autocommand if they do not press anything for one minute. If they return to the app they can turn off the autocommand and go back to manual. I feel the 1v1 PVP needs some sort of revamp too. If you're playing somebody on your level and good you end up having to switch monsters every turn to react to strengths and weaknesses. It makes the match very long and annoying. I'm not sure how this could change...perhaps it will fix itself when more monsters get incorporated into people's armies (right now everybody seems to have a fire, water, grass, and stone if they have 4). Maybe there could be a chance that your attack happens before the change? Maybe you could only have X swaps per match. I'm not sure yet, but I think it needs revamped somehow. There also is NO current reward for PVP. You do not get a crown like the ladder or prizes like the ladder. There is just the rankings which, in theory, are reset every month? That's hardly worth the effort of 10-15 minute battles for 1 point.

Training:
I wish we could somehow add some variability or life into training. I mean, most of the training exp comes from team battle and the training area, not really going through the maps. The maps are more of an opportunity to get prizes and supplement your training. I think the exp prize should either be higher so it is more enticing to do the same thing over and over, or let there be more prize chests so you get something out of it more often.

Capturing:
The limitation on seal cards is going to drive people crazy. I have been very stingy with mine so I haven't run out but it is quite annoying to think we are supposed to catch monsters for breeding, catch monsters to sacrifice, catch monsters for synthesizing, and catch monsters to increase the number in our collection -.- and we only get 1 per day? They are too rare of a prize right now. Add them to the spin at the end of levels and increase the daily alliance.

Hatching:
I really like this idea. It adds a fun element that is different than other similar games. However, the 16 hour cooldown is a looooong time. That allows us to breed once per day. Assume that your monster goes up a half a level each time (like we are seeing now) and it would be safe to assume that it will take 10+ days to get a single S rated monster from the D level we are lucky to catch them out. There also is no way to increase the ranking of monsters like the Draconus (sp?) and Twiggy/Branchy and Neo and Poe that you can only ever get one of. I also think that if you synthesize two of the same monster it should automatically synthesize opposite genders OR let you determine the gender of the offspring by which genders you use in making it. It takes a LONG time to get a rare monster and getting two takes twice that long...then you get two of the same gender...that's not cool.

Ladder:
I really like this activity even though I'm not that into it and fail at it! I like the auto command as it allows both parties to be on equal terms even when one is offline. It is fun to watch too. And there is a crown next to your name and a prize every 24 hours for your place. :D Like.

Overall:
Very impressed with the first version of this game. There seems to be minimal bugs and minimal crashing for me. The people seem nice even if they all ask the same questions over and over again :P . There's a couple different things to keep you occupied and playing throughout the day and will keep me coming back (at least for now ;) ).

I'd say you hit it RIGHT ON, especially 100% agree with the PVP thing, no medal (boo), the low rank battles get you 1-2 points, and when battling people who know whats going on you constantly change monsters. The capture cards are also very rare, possibly be put into the shop? ;) . I believe that the hatchery 16 hours is a little over the top time wise. Really 16 hours to make a C- graded monster? I can believe more if you are trying to create an S graded monster and have 16 hours, but for the lower grades that's not very convenient.

Good opinion, and I agree with most of it. Heres a shortened take on where me and you differ though.

Interface: I like it a lot, this game drains a lot of battery though

Chat: Chat seems to cause my game to crash/lag faster than anything else (maybe besides pvp) but I enjoy, I like how the crowns are shown because I feel that later on this will show who has the strongest monsters

PVP: Very fun and strategy oriented, reminds me of commanding armies in Haypi Kingdom (which I loved, still my favorite battle system of any game, even though I don't play HK anymore). Some cons are that after you run out of moves you automatically lose, I think it would be better off making your monsters use a move like struggle in pokemon (maybe call it Fatigue) where you do minimal damage (like maybe 35-40 power) and it causes X amount of recoil damage (like inflection). Also make the battles go faster, I don't want to spend 10+ minutes in one battle, especially because PVP makes my ipod lag and eventually crashes. I usually have to restart the app after a pvp match so I don't crash a few minutes later doing something else in the game.

Training: Like it :) enjoy how you can train the same monster in all nests, but I feel like it would make more sense to not allow it

Capturing: I really don't think it should be necessary to allow people to buy seal cards. I have over 30 in my bag right now, and my monster count is approx 35 so I'm not "saving" them.

Hatching: Like it, adds new elements, kind of expensive for people who don't grind for money like I do though.

Ladder: I enjoy how its auto-command so you can't control the battle and it goes faster. I'm kinda sad that I am at a rank in the 500s, when my setup of monsters could probably be in the top 10, at least top 20. But I'll get there eventually (10ish days) and then the rankings will be more "correct"

Overall: 9/10 very addicting :)

Oh one other thing, you should set the limit of items to be 99. Jellies are 20 and crystals are 50, and it gets annoying when I pass those limits and have to use another spot (like having 41 jellies needs 3 bag spots)

You guys both said pretty much everything, I'd just like to agree that've people leaving during a pvp match and not returning is very annoying. And maybe adding seal cards to the shop wouldn't be a bad idea.

Agree with majority, but I am 100% with you on the chat thing. Is the VIP chat limit thing a lie or what? Lol.

Personally, I kind of like the cards as is. Although I think the VIP should be lowered a bit because 20 is ridiculous. Cards can easily be gained through quests or hunting chests in games. People just don't have the patience for them, or they just want to catch anything and everything instead of saving them for specific ones.

Of course I want to catch everything isn't that the goal! Lol...I have caught every monster that I have seen so far I'm pretty sure...

And I do a lot of training but I don't EVER land on the chests. Maybe it's just rotten luck on my part -.-

Hmmm... mixed signals...

So after another day I don't fear the seals as much as before. At the beginning of the game you fly through the levels and there's lots of new monsters to catch. As you get higher it slows down though and takes longer to get to new levels for new monsters so I don't necessarily think more seals is necessary.

Well I have seal overload so I don't think so either. ESP since we can't sacrifice because its useless. I wish we could sell excess monsters for silver instead dependent on level and rarity o: so they wouldn't end up being less than the seal card sell price itself lol.
